Going from Kansai airport to Itami airport - Sproing - 2010-03-27

Hi, I'm flying to Fukuoka this summer and will probably have a stopover in Osaka. I'll arrive at Kansai International airport and the departure for Fukuoka will be from Itami airport. I will have 5 hours (from scheduled arrival to scheduled departure) to get from Kansai to Itami.
Those of you who are familiar with Osaka or the airports, do I have enough time to get to Itami from Kansai (customs, luggage, transport, checking-in...) and how do I get there the cheapest and most conveniently?

I'll just point out that I've never been to Japan before, but I've flown several times, so I'm familiar with airports.

1-1.5 hours to go through the airport, 1.5-2 hours to get to itami, and 1-1.5 hours to check-in -- should be ok, but it'd be better to stay a couple of days in osaka (or rather, kyoto) instead, or fly direct from kansai international

for the train, try http://www.jorudan.co.jp/english/norikae/e-norikeyin.html with "Kansai-Airport" and "Osaka-Airport"

Its cutting it very fine. You should always account for mistakes, christ last time I was at kansai i was only supposed to be there for like 20 mins but ended up being there for 2 hours, very nearly missed my next flight -_-

Thanks for the replies. Since I'll be booking a flight from Finland to Fukuoka I need to transfer planes in either Osaka, Nagoya or Tokyo, but there are not many good flights to choose from.
One option is the Kansai-Itami transfer, another one is Chubu Centrair Nagoya (NGO)-Komaki Nagoya (NKM). In Nagoya I'll have 8 hours time for the transfer. Does anyone know if that is enough? And how do I go from NGO to NKM? I've searched around but haven't found anything yet.
And also, will 2 hours be enough time to transfer planes at Narita? Or how much time do I need?

Inside Narita? It all depends on whether your flight lands on time, you clear customs quickly, your bags show up, etc.

I'd be more tempted to just fly into Kansai, head to Shin-Osaka Station, and grab the first Shinkansen out of there to Hakata. (Search for trains to Hakata Station, not Fukuoka, or else you'll get weird results.) The train ride is ~2-3 hours or so, IIRC, and if your flight is all screwed up, you can just grab the next train. It's not a big deal then.

The only downside is that it's difficult to carry a lot of luggage on the trains, because you have to carry it yourself and you have to figure out where to put it. (Stick large luggage behind the last row of seats on the passenger car-- it's prime real estate, though.)
