how about a video practice thread - socrat - 2010-03-13

I'm still at the beginner level, but tried some reading from the asahi kids newspaper for fun. Some of the kanji was a little difficult so not very fluid.

Thought it would be fun if we posted some practice videos.

You've got more brass than the majority of people studying Japanese right now. Awesome idea. Keep it up!

I think it'd be interesting to see comparison's of now versus 1 year, 2 years, etc.

I agree with the 1 vs 2 years. I was planning personally to record myself reading subtitles or speaking. And then in a year compare it back. And then another year compare it back.
So yea 2 years.

I recently transcribed a scene from the bleach anime using one of my youtube accounts. Took a while, but it seriously trains the listening/reading/understanding skills all in one. And of course typing out the kanji as well.

I have some videos where I practice speaking Japanese, but I prepared and memorized a script before recording. The other videos where I speak English are of tongue twisters I use for the kindergarten class I teach.

I think I posted last week that I was leaving Africa, going to be in the US for week, and just got into Japan yesterday (as an aside, had yet another wonderful time on Singapore Air).

Guess I should update my profile. I have no intention of returning to Djibouti.
