Perhaps it was mentioned somewhere already, but I frequently encounter words in kore that are kana-only whereas they ususally are in kanji. I do find checking this costs quite some time, but then that is study time as well and it works for me. You could also ignore this, just do the deck at a quick pace and correct the kana words to kanji later on. I'm even checking for Heisig 3 ji and hyougaiji and will probably only selectively learn those as they come in my vocab. kore: core2k+core6k complete, enhanced and sorted by kanji - overture2112 - 2010-11-12 **EDIT** actually it seems extracting the data from the html file isn't as bad as I originally thought, but it still would be nice to have a proper download link. Perhaps there's been a change to anki's wiki system, but the download links for the data seem to be broken (it just loops back to fugounashi's contrib page). You can see an html view of the data just fine, but it's not trivial to extract the original data from the html page due to all the formatting mixed in the data (eg, span tags and many characters are escaped, like "<" and ">"). Is there anyway someone could post a link to the kore data file? Or perhaps see why the wiki's link no longer works. kore: core2k+core6k complete, enhanced and sorted by kanji - loonytik - 2010-11-12 right click. save as works fine for me ^^' kore: core2k+core6k complete, enhanced and sorted by kanji - overture2112 - 2010-11-12 loonytik Wrote:right click. save as works fine for me ^^'Could you post the url of the link? kore: core2k+core6k complete, enhanced and sorted by kanji - nest0r - 2010-11-12 overture2112 Wrote:**EDIT** actually it seems extracting the data from the html file isn't as bad as I originally thought, but it still would be nice to have a proper download link.If nothing else: I'm using ClipboardFusion for the purposes of scrubbing leading/trailing spaces and HTML formatting from my copy/pasted information. I just hit a hotkey after ctrl+c-ing something and it scrubs it, then I ctrl-v as normal to paste plain unformatted text. That seems handy. I ended up just writing a small script to scrape the data from the html and remove the formatting since I wanted to add some fields from nukemarine's deck (eg, sentence image and some tags) anyway, but otherwise that would have saved me some time. The link should still be fixed for anyone else that wants to pull the data, though. -- Detailed explanation http://ichi2.net/anki/wiki/ContribFugounashi#kore is the link in the OP's post, which point's to a page with a list of various utilities. This page has "download import file: kore-1.7.txt" link, which points to http://ankisrs.net/docs/ContribFugounashi%3Faction=AttachFile&do=view&target=kore-1.7.txt.html, which is a page containing the data inside some square box and has a link at the top with "Download", which points to http://ankisrs.net/wiki/ContribFugounashi?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=kore-1.7.txt, which loops (redirects?) back to the Contrib page. Ergo, the link is broken. kore: core2k+core6k complete, enhanced and sorted by kanji - loonytik - 2010-11-12 mmm your right. I saved it a while ago with right click etc... now the link is borked indeed.(FAIL for me for not checking )

Did my first reviews yesterday. Just wanted to say a big thanks to cangy for making kore available. Thanks also to everyone who provided tips on how to set kore up. Posts I found particularly helpful in this thread that may help others who don't quite understand how to get the deck up and running: Kubelek: http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?pid=92314#pid92314 Nukemarine: http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?pid=94030#pid94030 Asriel: http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?pid=111321#pid111321 I finished RTK earlier this year (woo hoo!) and next wanted to work on vocab/readings. I had done a bit of KO2001 on smart.fm and was going to dig into that in earnest but now my internet access here at home has gone spotty on me, so I was looking for an offline alternative. I came across this thread and after much reading and troubleshooting, I can now begin my vocab journey in earnest. Thanks also cangy for adding JLPT info to the kore file; that allowed me to order my list from JLPT 4 to 1 (with a secondary sort of the vocab within each JLPT level in "alphabetical" order, so that compounds that share initial kanji are grouped together). I'm not studying for the JLPT, but I found that level 4 vocab is a nice representation of very common words that I want to make sure to know, and then it progresses from there. This doesn't allow for i+1 sentence progression but I'm just focusing on the given vocab word when I review. I definitely include the sentence (in the answer section), read it, and shadow it for accent/intonation practice, but it's not essential that I know every word in the sentence as I figure I will come across most of the unknown words in due time as I move through the deck. The grammar of the example sentences is also simple enough that with the provided English translation, I can easily figure out what corresponds to what and understand how the keyword works in the sentence. So anyway, I hope to be able to come back after I've made some progress and give some feedback on what kind of impact studying the deck has made on my reading ability. (I'm at advanced beginner level at best at this point and have to look up just about everything when I try to read native Japanese material. It's more decoding than reading at this point). I'd love it if others provided feedback as well; is there a thread where people talk about their results with core6k? Stuff like that always motivates me. kore: core2k+core6k complete, enhanced and sorted by kanji - Jellepostma - 2010-11-14 Hey everyone, I'm currently busy doing RTK and I'm planning on starting core2k6k after I'm finished with it, but I'm a bit confused. Should I use this deck? Or should I use the separate ones in Nukemarine's Suggested Guide for Beginners? I guess I should do them in ko2001 order as suggested, but does that mean I shouldn't do the ko2001 deck afterwards? Love this forum btw =) kore: core2k+core6k complete, enhanced and sorted by kanji - mpacheco - 2010-11-15 seppukuh Wrote:Yeah, the problem with xxfurigana comes from the plugin (and the original furigana support, too, afaik) expecting a space before a 漢字. I downloaded the sentence audio from the link on the anki webpage. I've copied all of them into a folder called "Kore.media" (my deck is called 'Kore'). I'm not sure what else I have to do to make the sound work. The "Kore.media" folder is in the overall "Anki" folder. If someone could tell me if I'm missing something really obvious, I would appreciate it. I have kept the "sentence-sound-local" field for all my cards. In the "answer" field in the template, I had it as: %<sentence-sound-local>s, at the end of all the other fields I wanted displayed in the answer. Thanks if someone can help me with this issue. kore: core2k+core6k complete, enhanced and sorted by kanji - kerosan41 - 2010-11-22 vinniram Wrote:So I've been trying to get the sound files for the sentences to work.
