This thread makes me feel like Indiana Jones in the library in Venice

Or rather, it would if this thread existed, which it doesn't.

I enjoy illegally downloading and using pirated Japanese books from megaupload, rapidshare and other such sites. Woops, it just slipped out.

@thecite - You are a terrible person and this thread is meant for earnest lovers and purchasers of Japanese books. Please go and change your wicked ways before returning.

Oh lord, I've been waiting for this day!
Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin Thanks a lot.

No problem, it's all thanks to other people, as usual. Edited the link by the way, hopefully an improvement, if you want to edit the quote in your reply to reflect that.

Oh, FutureBlues is going to love Bead Fantasies II and Pineapple Lace. :-)

a totally innocent thread about 日本語 books - nest0r - 2011-01-24

@Thora - lol. [stuff that's irrelevant now]

Edit: Ohhh you were referring to umm, the only link in question. I thought there was a batch of the kinds of books that a friend of a friend told me they ignored while perusing the available txts via search engines I've never heard of and haven't seen mentioned in any informational txts.

Knowing what you actually referred to actually makes your comment even funnier.

So uh... If one were to fail to ignore some new links... And were flooded with books... Would one also be (hypothetically, mind you) burdened with an easy list of said books, or would he be forced to compile his own list?

a totally innocent thread about 日本語 books - nest0r - 2011-01-24

One might find a list in the second post or so of the new non-existent batch's linked thread, tucked behind a 'spoiler' button. Hypothetically.

a totally innocent thread about 日本語 books - wccrawford - 2011-01-24

SO much clicking. Good thing nobody's actually doing it.

Thanks again, Nestor!

I didn't want to name names, but Tolerance91 totally gave me the heads up. The heads up for what, you ask? For umm a thread in which someone posted 1000s of recipes for tasty Japanese food.

すみません

Anyone know where I can find a digital version of a song of fire and ice? In Japanese of course.

Anyone want to give a rundown on how to decode Japanese PSP小説 threads?

For educational purposes of course.

I think you meant P2P...

Edit: I've gotten as far as installing and connecting, but still haven't figured out how to actually add a DL from those sites.

To get as far as I did, searching for the "Dark" "P2P" that's "Perfect" might help quite a lot.

If you pair up the first two hits (the domains) to what someone talked about in a readme file that isn't linked to w/ an addendum in this thread regarding: software, search sites, and ハッシュ, it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to procure certain items.

Once you've done that and if it's not enough, for further technical details and materials, see also: http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?pid=118845#pid118845

I've been reviewing that new large batch. So far it looks like they've got everything umm not posted here as that would be wrong, and with the method described above also procured everything not nailed down. ;p As expected, as what was posted here was just a few days worth of manual, hand-selected acquisitions (just sayin'). It might be tempting for some to add a batch of what's missing, i.e. that wasn't posted here or there, but I think with the aforementioned tools/method one should catch their own fish. /vaguery

Oh man, 'Share'ing was such a consideration, too. But things said that it was supplanted by darker networks.

Thanks again, nestor... Or whoever allegedly wrote that. Or something.

Honestly, this thread with all it’s nuge-nuge-wink-wink annoyed me to no end. I already have quite a corkscrew for a mind, but the posts in here managed to almost twist it into a Gordian knot. So, after being hit very hard on the head, it seems I’m now cursed with a repeating dream involving whitefox’s friend Winny Reginald Arfland and a bunch of asians. But let me delineate:

In a big castle entirely made out of windows, the old king (a former member of the x-men apparently) is enjoying his dinner when he’s suddenly informed that a bunch of asian looking people are standing infront of the gate. Being a hospitable jet cautious ruler he askes his court magican to do a magical investigation on them to see if these people have hostile or friendly intentions. The court magican does as she is told and finds no evidence for hostility, so the king gives the order to open the gate and to welcome the guests from far away asia.
I’m send as a runner to inform Sir Winny Reginald Arfland, the gatekeeper, about the king’s decision. Sir Winny Reginald Arfland however decides he doesn’t like that bunch of suspiciously looking people and refuses to open the gate. With an apple from the locale japanese garden I can bribe him to open the gate, but now Sir Winny Reginald Arfland becomes picky and decides on a whim to let some asians enter and others not. Discusted with this racist behavior I wake up before I can turn violent on him.
Any idead how to convince him to become more friendly?

If this thread hadn’t been so annoying I might have read it two times while having giggle fits and I might even had enjoyed quite a –bit– of it, but it was, so I didn’t. Though if I did, I might say どうも有り難うございます which I won’t, since I obviously didn’t. There! Tongue

I'm sure you're welcome, though we have no idea what you're talking about, and hope it isn't something immoral.

MS Applocale is all I understood, sorry. ;p I could not tell if something else was a complete anagram or partial or what.

And ‘jet cautious’, that refers to the JET Programme? You're feeling cautious about whether to join it?? (Just kidding, I figured that was a German y/j thing.)

Oh, and just as a general thread follow-up to past references about Smoopy, we now have cb's JNovel Formatter. And for when you want vertical text w/ furigana but don't have MS Word (if you do, I recommend using that with balloonguy's rubier macro, so you can select text), and don't want to use smoopy which requires applocale on some PCs, there's also a link in the JNF (JNovel Formatter) thread to ArisuViewer, courtesy of hereticalrants. It has the same limitations as Smoopy though and seems identical, but doesn't seem to require applocale the way Smoopy does.

Extra reference:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/263833/rubier.bas (Works with Word but not OO Writer; also, if you want to use it with vertical text in Word, enable the vertical text before running the macro)

Ahha! I see what you meant now, Biene. I think.

You should just delete the problem file (the one with an 11 in the filename) and grab this one, if you can: http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?pid=90764#pid90764 - Or you could ignore all those batches and just use the new huge 5000+ one, as I think it contains all of the same files and a vast number more.

Edit: Well, you might want to grab the original batches because they might contain images which can be processed with JNovel Formatter. Not that I know what images or batches you're talking about because that would be wrong.

To me, it sounds like encoding problems using WinRAR.
