四字熟語 Deck Uploaded - mezbup - 2010-02-16 Hi everyone, For those of you on a quest of total mastery I've uploaded a 四字熟語 deck with just over 3000 四字熟語! There wasn't a nice solid deck so I thought I'd create one for future use and share it with everyone. All info was sourced from http://home.earthlink.net/~4jword/index3.htm and I used Rikai-Chan and it's S feature to put it into a format I could import into Anki. Took a while but not too long. Anyways, learn 10 a day and have them mastered all within a year then flip the deck and learn to write them by hand (lolll). Can also just use it as a reference and unsuspend what you want when you need it. I really want a deck for ことわざ and 慣用表現 but alas it still escapes me. Enjoy. 四字熟語 Deck Uploaded - Katsuo - 2010-02-16 mezbup Wrote:All info was sourced from http://home.earthlink.net/~4jword/index3.htm and I used Rikai-Chan and it's S feature to put it into a format I could import into Anki. Took a while but not too long.I posted that data as a spreadsheet in case anyone wanted to use it to make Anki decks etc. (probably would have saved you a few minutes). I added approximate frequency ratings from A to F. Data from ALC is mixed in, and I think their selection is quite useful. One you've learnt a couple of hundred, try the 四字熟語 game. Quote:I really want a deck for ことわざ and 慣用表現 but alas it still escapes me.There's about 470 in this spreadsheet. And 2,100 idioms here, but please buy the relevant book to get the example sentences (they really help you to remember the expressions). 四字熟語 Deck Uploaded - bodhisamaya - 2010-02-16 Katsuo Wrote:One you've learnt a couple of hundred, try the 四字熟語 game.Sweet! You have to build words from the left, top to bottom. It doesn't seem to accept them horizontally. 四字熟語 Deck Uploaded - ta12121 - 2010-02-16 sweet! Didn't know there was a 四字熟語 game. Thanks for link Katsuo! 四字熟語 Deck Uploaded - spleenlol - 2010-02-17 Where is the link? Or is the download on anki? 四字熟語 Deck Uploaded - raseru - 2010-02-19 I uploaded both of them to anki, search 'japanese idioms' 四字熟語 Deck Uploaded - Fuamnach - 2010-02-19 Katsuo Wrote:thanks for that!mezbup Wrote:All info was sourced from http://home.earthlink.net/~4jword/index3.htm and I used Rikai-Chan and it's S feature to put it into a format I could import into Anki. A while back I was mining Kuroshitsuji and came across the sentence 'こんな所で油を売っている暇があるなら 仕事なさい!' which had been translated as 'If you’ve got time to be loafing around here, then do your work!' so being the newbie I am I was like, 'right...that's cool, but what's all this talk about "selling oil"' O_o??? I googled it back then and nothing came up but looked it up on that spreadsheet just now and there it was now I know what it is I can look out for such expressions ^__^
四字熟語 Deck Uploaded - raseru - 2010-02-19 Yeah, 油を売る is pretty popular usually you can figure out they're idioms when the sentence doesn't make much sense. In that case, you can type it in dictionary form and rikai-chan has a decent chance to pick it up (or just search an idiom book) 四字熟語 Deck Uploaded - Fuamnach - 2010-02-19 raseru Wrote:Yeah, 油を売る is pretty popularAhhh, dictionary form, no wonder I didn't find it, i put the original form (and probably in romaji to boot, doh!) i can certainly agree with the not making sense, looking through the list some of them are a cool way of putting things, but some, like 油を売る are just "eh??? But oil is lucrative, why would selling it be loafing around??" kind of thing. though it's not as if the english ones i know are any less strange...^_^ 四字熟語 Deck Uploaded - raseru - 2010-02-20 heh yeah I don't know why but idioms in Japanese must be in dictionary form for rikai-chan. Normal words don't have this problem 四字熟語 Deck Uploaded - Katsuo - 2010-02-20 Fuamnach Wrote:But oil is lucrative, why would selling it be loafing around??It seems the oil was viscous and took a long time to pour, especially the last few drops. Sellers would engage in idle chat while waiting. |
