My study method (Study pack included) - Jarvik7 - 2010-02-13 It's too bad that kindle etc are overpriced POS, I'd like a decent ereader right about now. My study method (Study pack included) - wccrawford - 2010-02-13 Oh, verrrrry nice! I have Kino No Tabi book 1 sitting on myself waiting for me to be able to read it... Being able to read it with Rikaikun is very nice. (Actually, I can read a lot more of it now than last time I checked... hehe.) I don't have any idea where you got there from, though. One of my target books is Dennou Coil. I would love to have a computerized version of it so I can read it once with Rikakun. Any tips on finding it? My study method (Study pack included) - raseru - 2010-02-13 There's a how to text which explains how I find these inside the download itself. I've gathered them over the years and they're not easy to get. On top of that, if the story isn't popular, it has a much rarer chance of being found on winny/share if it even exists. Kino no tabi 1 was the first Japanese book I ever read. God I was aweful at the time and didn't understand most of it other than the fact I watched the anime for the sake of reading it. I did notice a huge improvement after my first book though. That had to be at least 3 years ago and I took a break from reading. Now books are pretty easy to read and very enjoyable. Currently on zero no tsukaima book #8 way better than the anime imo (I find the book funny, the anime had some god-awful parts) My study method (Study pack included) - rswarsaw - 2010-02-13 thanks for uploading to the zshare site... that one is working. My study method (Study pack included) - raseru - 2010-02-13 np My study method (Study pack included) - wccrawford - 2010-02-13 Oh, I see. Winny and Share are Japanese P2P programs. I should have Googled that, I guess. Thanks! My study method (Study pack included) - Babyrat - 2010-02-13 Thank you so much for this, really, I cant thank you enough! Especially for your taste in books! My study method (Study pack included) - Transparent_Aluminium - 2010-02-13 Can you find actual novels on Winny/Share? Stuff like Murakami (春樹村上) or Yoshimoto Banana ? My study method (Study pack included) - ta12121 - 2010-02-13 Ok it seems to be working now. I think it was just the fonts i needed to download. My study method (Study pack included) - trusmis - 2010-02-13 I was pretty curious and downloaded it but my unrar says: is not RAR archive No files to extract
My study method (Study pack included) - wccrawford - 2010-02-13 trusmis Wrote:I was pretty curious and downloaded it but my unrar says:I downloaded them all and they all extracted fine, so it's not the original files that are the problem. Maybe you got a corrupt download, or your winrar isn't new enough or something. My study method (Study pack included) - ta12121 - 2010-02-13 thanks for uploading the files raseru. Gives me more enjoyable things to SRS. My study method (Study pack included) - ruiner - 2010-02-13 I've never had problems with finding what I want via hongfire.com or eMule or NyaaTorrents. Of what do I speak? Certainly not anything under the keyword of 'light novel' or '一般小説'. My study method (Study pack included) - nest0r - 2010-02-13 wccrawford Wrote:Oh, verrrrry nice! I couldn't find, though. Not that I was looking, because that would be wrong. I merely pasted the filename so that you know what to avoid when looking for physical copies to purchase. (Well, the first 3. I'll own the last 3 once I can read the first ones.)Edit: Oh, and the filename will probably be a lot of help. When I wanted to buy the mangas, I had trouble finding them since the anime is so much more popular. I've got the other 3 marked for later, though, so I can find them easily. Edit: Well, would you look at that. There are 10 now. My study method (Study pack included) - nest0r - 2010-02-13 wccrawford Wrote:Why'd you even have to bring them up, I could've been ignorant of their existence. Now not only do I know they exist, but I can't find them! I mean, I can't afford them but have added them to my Amazon wishlist......nest0r Wrote:I merely pasted the filename so that you know what to avoid when looking for physical copies to purchase. Not that that's a worry, since I already own the physical copies. My study method (Study pack included) - nest0r - 2010-02-13 wccrawford Wrote:Okay, I definitely recommend that you do not Google for 'denno coil novel megaupload' or anything like that, because it won't turn up the alphanumeric megaupload code you need to stick into the URL for the first volume.nest0r Wrote:I merely pasted the filename so that you know what to avoid when looking for physical copies to purchase. Not that that's a worry, since I already own the physical copies. My study method (Study pack included) - raseru - 2010-02-14 haha, what a shame
My study method (Study pack included) - wccrawford - 2010-02-14 Ahhh, that's too bad, then. Oh well. Hehe. This is by far one of the hardest things I've ever searched for. To find evidence that 9 of the books existed out there, but no actual downloads of any except the first... Excruciating. Oh, and it looks like even that one is useless... It's just scans. Oh wait, we're not doing that thing here, are we. I noticed ahibba mentioned a program elsewhere and checked it out, works splendidly for me. I mean, I assume ahibba was simulating a pirate who was recommending this program, so I ran a thought experiment where I also simulated such a person, and one could use the Google search 'readiris hemp single' to run a similar experiment.nest0r Wrote:Can't a person OCR such things, however, theoretically speaking?Should one be able to find one of the very few pieces of software that can OCR Japanese, and get that software to actually work, it is theoretically possible, yes. I've never met anyone who has managed, though. Seems to have a 50 page limit, which is an annoyance but doesn't prevent selecting 50 images at a time... wonder if there's a hac--workaround... I used 'process as 300dpi', 'recreate source' and MS .rtf format--seems to work best if you do that before saving .rtf as, say, a .txt using UTF-8 without inserting breaks (to get it horizontal). Early cluttered pages were a bit glitchy looking, but the rest seemed 90-99% error free. Then I ended the experiment, glad that I only use legitimate materials in my study. |
