Docomo Xperia X10 Android smartphone - zanzou - 2010-01-24
In case anyone's thinking of upgrading to a smart phone in Japan and isn't going the iPhone route, Docomo is releasing the Sony Erickson XPeria X10 Android phone in April.
I currently have the HTC-Magic 32B Android device on Docomo and extremely happy with the service. I use the GPS navigation via Google maps on it about every weekend. The Japanese input method leaves something to be desired I think, but a 3rd party application fixes that well enough and the X10 seems to deal with it pretty well as well. Also, I use Anki online in the web browser for most of my common reviews which I can get taken care of during my hour or so commute.
