Subs for the new drama season - IceCream - 2010-01-16 Hey ![]() well, i messaged the guy who provided the subs for last season, and he said he's going to provide subs for some of the shows, but only the ones he watches this time. (which is totally understandable). Apparently the timing work isn't difficult and takes about 15 minutes per episode. But it gets annoying if you're doing a ton a week. So, all you subs2srs users, if you see a show that doesn't seem to have japanese subs, you should volunteer!! i'm going to try to do it too. That way, we can also give the perfect timings for use with subs2srs, which'll be great. If you don't want to stick with one show for the whole season, we can switch up from week to week or whatever. Anyone interested? Subs for the new drama season - Tobberoth - 2010-01-16 What guy are you talking about? Subs for the new drama season - Burritolingus - 2010-01-16 I'd be glad to lend a hand. I've tinkered a bit with Aegisub in the past and I've found the timing part relatively easy to get down. I'm a bit confused though - I do understand that he'll only be providing subs for the shows he's watching this season, but how do we volunteer to help for the shows without subs he provides? Do we take it to Dramanote and time by hand? Or am I missing something here (most likely scenario)? ![]() I'd best look up this season's dramas, while I'm at it! Subs for the new drama season - Tobberoth - 2010-01-16 I guess he is using that new system which grabs some sort of official close captions contained in the HD streams from the actual Japanese channels. Probably, these raw captions are untimed and that's where the problem lies. I could see myself helping out, but it would be in a very small scale... something like timing 5 minutes of a show every week. Safe to say, I would get bored of it really quickly and would probably start doing it sloppily if I had to do a whole episode. I was really looking forward to watching it because I loved DragonZakura, but I wasn't looking forward to misunderstanding half of the show, because my listening skills are still not up to par. When I saw the subs, it really made me think about how I can deeply and truly love someone without ever meeting or talking to them. Sorry, that's weird. Anyways, I'd be happy to volunteer to do the timing for a drama, but ....... I don't even know how. I'm really crossing my fingers and hoping that Bloody Monday 2 gets j subs, though. Subs for the new drama season - Nukemarine - 2010-01-17 Just a suggestion, could this be moved to the group project forum? Sounds like a great thing to do if coordinated, and feasible seeing a large number of us live in Japan. Subs for the new drama season - Nii87 - 2010-01-17 Hooray Bloody Monday season 2! Probably, these raw captions are untimed and that's where the problem lies.Actually: "This Japanese subs extraction is coordinated by qop123, and those who are interested in Japanese subs for other dramas, and can manage to shift times for CMs and check the subs with raw videos and upload them to DA are welcome to send qop123 a private message. " (emphasis added by me) If its like that, then it is literally less that one minutes work (5-10 minutes of waiting for aeigsub to load the video, just do something else during). One minute once a week. Subs for the new drama season - yukimine - 2010-01-25 He actually posted some tips and suggestion to edit the timing of the subs in this topic. I really think more people should volunter to do this, it would be great if we could get japanese subs for all the series of the season from now on. I'm interested in Tomehane and thinking about helping with the timing of this one... Maybe if someone else is interested we can divide work, each week somebody fixes the timing of one episode or so. Subs for the new drama season - yukimine - 2010-01-27 That's great to know IceCream! How do you want to split the work? You do the first episode, I do the second one and so on? I'll start working on it as soon as the subtitles are uploaded. Subs for the new drama season - pubbie2 - 2010-02-08 Aw damn, I deleted the tomehane avi's because I thought there'd be no japanese subs for it. Oh, well downloading again!
