What's up with the random drop? - gagge_tah - 2009-11-17 賭 Once again I've found a kanji that is "written" in different way in the book and the normal typeface here. If I look it up it's supposed to have 15 strokes, which means that little drop shouldn't be there. I guess it's an issue of printing fonts vs. handwriting but does anyone really know what's right or wrong here? What's up with the random drop? - mypapa12 - 2009-11-17 On my computer (a Mac), if I copy-paste your kanji 賭 in a text editor, I see the font "Hiragino Kaku Pro N" and I think the N is important here because it could mean it's a chinese variant of your kanji. If I change the font to "Hiragino Kaku Pro", the drop disappears. What's up with the random drop? - Katsuo - 2009-11-17 賭, like 箸, is outside the Joyo kanji (until next year). See this post. Edit: @mypapa12: The "N" font is a Newer version of the font, but still Japanese. |
