There are web tools where you can go to Japanese websites and as you put your mouse over vocabulary it will give you a rough translation. Really rough. Problem is I forgot what those sites were!! Doesn anyone know what I'm talking about?

I know Tae Kim's grammar site has a hover -> definition feature but I don't know about any others.

Something you might be interested in though is Wakan. It's basically a dictionary tool but has a very useful feature that does something like what you're asking. Hover the mouse over a word/kanji/whatever and it can give the pronunciation and the meaning in a little popup window.

Be Warned: There is a serious bug that will cause a Windows XP SP2 machine to crash and burn but a fix for that can be found in a forum post here.

I've been reccomending Rikaichan right and left, myself. If you're learning Japanese and need some help in reading it... It's an essential tool to have installed on your Firefox browser!!
