"State of mind" doldrums - Rujiel - 2009-09-17 The introduction of the "state of mind" petit heart radical around frame 600 has slowed me down considerably. Several recommended using Data from Star Trek as an image, but I'm not familiar enough with the show for that to be potent. Others recommended using the Dalai lama, which seems viable if a bit impersonal. Did you use any special image for this radical? "State of mind" doldrums - Nii87 - 2009-09-17 I'm not geeky enough to use Data. I initially used Cameron from the Terminator TV series, so I can retrofit the stories from this site with her instead of Data. This got annoying so I ended up using that radical to mean "feeling". Worked well. I googled his picture so I knew what he looked like and I knew he was a robot with human features. That's all you need to know really to make stories. If you are really familiar with the character, it might be harder to make stories actually. You know the character so well that your mind starts to reject the crazy stories you come up with because "X would really never do that/say that." If you know just a few general facts to get started, you have the freedom to flesh out the character any way you like and create a whole new world. You will probably remember well, because the story is coming from you. "State of mind" doldrums - Evil_Dragon - 2009-09-17 I chose the Dalai Lama mainly because at least to me it's pretty easy to make up stories that use him. Be it his actual character or not (same as with Mr. T, Spiderman, Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger...). As long as it's someone who let's your imagination run wild.. perfect! "State of mind" doldrums - MidoriTori - 2009-09-17 I turned it into Spock because he has no feeling/heart and if you turn the two sides up, it would look like his ears. "State of mind" doldrums - Nukemarine - 2009-09-17 I liked Tin Man from Wizard of Oz, especially as he gets' the heart shaped pendant. "State of mind" doldrums - drivers99 - 2009-09-17 If you want to know more about Data just watch this clip. I think it's worth the effort because of many of the good stories on this site that you can use. It shows a lot about him in a short amount of time. His personality, his capabilities and characteristics: Also worth noting he got a hold of an emotion chip at one point: "State of mind" doldrums - ruiner - 2009-09-17 I never used anything special or had a problem with it. Just by rote I guess--the most thought I put into it was 'a narrow state of mine' which the line represents, trying to stay straight to avoid the dots on the side or something. "State of mind" doldrums - chamcham - 2009-09-17 There was a recent Japanese drama called "Zettai Kareshi", which is a kind of "my boyfriend is a robot" drama. The story starts out as you would expect, but as soon as the robot's programming gets better the robot starts to develop a personality and understand people's feelings. It really caught me off guard and I found myself addicted to a show that I never would have ever thought I would like so much. Another good character to use would be "Chii" from the anime "Chobits". |
