Which sentences to SRS? - chamcham - 2009-08-27

A simple question for everyone:

Which sentences do you prefer to SRS?

For me, I usually only SRS sentences that I don't understand.
If I can completely understand a sentence, I don't even bother SRSing
the sentence for vocab words. Otherwise, I find it too tedious.

Thanks.

I SRS sentences for writing/speaking/listening/vocabulary/grammar/reading practice in varying combinations, so as long as it's interesting or useful to that end, and as long as learning it in the SRS outweighs just learning it by un-flashcarded exposure in terms of usefulness versus effort invested... I think as my abilities progress I'll find sentences less and less useful till I'm very minimal about SRSing.

I SRS sentences which I can't understand without looking something up, or use context to understand. If I want to learn a word, I usually try to find a challenging sentence instead of a very simple one. However, I only ever enter a sentence I understand. Entering sentences you don't understand leads to improper learning. You should challenge yourself, not guess.

I'd rather pick an extremely basic sentence than a sentence I can't fully comprehend.
