wow. Anki for Android. The myTouch 3G has an SDHC slot. So I could just copy my decks to an SDHC card and run them on Anki on my phone.
This might actually turn out to be better than getting an iPhone.
Also, the Android browser is based on WebKit (which Safari is also based on).

Theres anki for the iphone too, but it is Ankimini. Also, the iphone has this impressive japanese input method
I dont know if android can do this right now, but it _probably_ will in the future.
I don't want to ever give any money to the Apple corporation though, so I'm definitely going with an android phone. If you're buying right now, you should probably buy an iPhone because you can set it up to be a good study device, but thats just my personal opinion. If you can wait, like me (several months!), then the real iphone rivaling android-based phones will get released.

Exactly. I was thinkinf a few weeks ago of buying the iphone, but I changed my mind after hearing about Android. Is has so much potencial.
Ankidroid, so far, does not have SRS, it just shows randomly cards from the deck. But it will in a few weeks (or so the creator told me).

Japanese input works great on Android with OpenWnn IME, it's comparable to the one seen on the iPhone, at least judging from the youtube vid, except that you convert to Kanji for every word on its own, instead of typing the whole sentence and converting it as a whole. There also is a native Japanese IME out there, but it can be installed only on rooted phones. While my phone is rooted, I'm pretty happy with OpenWnn and don't need the native one (iWnnIME).
What I do have installed, though, is the Chinese IME (HTC_CIME): it offers kanji handwriting recognition, which is very useful for Kanji I don't know yet or haven't learned a reading for. Needs a rooted phone. What I don't like is that I lose a few seconds each time I switch input methods, which I need to do quite often.
For Kanji SRSing I use a selfmade PHP tool. This page seems to work too, I use it only for looking up stories though.

For Japanese input on Android, I recommend "Simeji". I use it on my myTouch3G phone.
It does the same thing as that the iphone IME shown in the youtube video. Simeji actually has 3 different modes for inputting Japanese.
After installing Simeji, just hold your finger down over a text input box, a popup menu will appear, choose "input method" and that select "Simeji keyboard".
If you need to switch back, old your finger down over a text input box, choose "input method" and that select "Android keyboard".
Also, Simeji is FREE.
