Anki fails on automatic readings: how to correct? - YogaSpirit - 2009-08-15 通り means "street, avenue" and is pronounced どおり。 But in my cards, Anki transcripts the reading of the kanji like this: 通[とお]り. I corrected this manually, but each time I need to regenerate the readings of my deck, Anki put its wrong transcription back, that is [とお]. What's the best solution to solve the issue? Fix them the way you like and leave them be. Second, this is the correct reading because Anki is generating the reading for the kanji minus the okurigana http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okurigana If you leave it as "通[とお]り" you will see everything between "[ ]" in superscript in your answer field.
