I've lived in Japan for a few years, but I lived in the middle of the country and had no choice but to get all of my resources through the internet. I moved to a bigger city and I can get satellite TV and broadcast channels. Now I'm inundated with Japanese-language content. Even though there are more movies and TV shows on Sky Perfect, the 地デジ channels are still the best, because everything is in HD and there are exact Japanese subs (something they don't even do for DVDs for some reason).
Anyway, I didn't know what I was missing before, and I'd say that the sheer amount of content you have access to here is worth the move.
