Japanese posters - anyone? - Zorlee - 2009-08-01

Hi everyone!
I really want to find some good-looking Japanese posters/pictures to have on my walls.
I know some of you use newspapers/magazines etc, but I´d really like to find something that doesn´t make me look like a psycho. Big Grin
I´m going to New York in a couple of weeks, so can I find something there?
If not, do you guys have any recommendations for online-stores that sell Japanese posters?

Can't you make your own? Find some large images and have someone print them out (a store or a site or something).

hehe. I've never made a poster before, but I've used sites like Cafe Press to make Japanese t-shirts (from films/manga/etc). Here's a poster site, never used it, though: http://www.zazzle.com/custom/posters

So you mean japanese cool but not in a geeky anime way? Japanese vintage beer (or other products if you must) posters are the way to go.

I managed to get hold of a couple of Kirin beer ones many years ago that were vintage images but for a new advertising campaign. Here's an example of one of the images http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3052/2764835935_0b1cdeeeb6.jpg

They were about 80x140cms (30x55 inches) I got them framed up in glass with a simple black frame. Everybody that visited my place absolutely loved them. I even had a real estate agent friend that would come and borrow them to put in apartments she was trying to sell that needed "modernizing".

Just google images "japanese beer posters" (or similar) and you'll find/see some great stuff.
