Keyboard problems: IME Standard - Mesqueeb - 2009-07-24

So I have this "US" Keyboard but with I always was able to write Japanese with it. In my language bar I can switch the layouts.

When I view Language Bar settings it says at the Japanese layout that there are 2 types:
-Microsoft IME Standard 2002 ver.8.1
-Microsoft Natural Input 2002 ver.8.1

They always come together and one of the two can't be deleted. Only the IME Standard is one where you can change some keyboard options that I REALLY need. With the Natural Input mode it is NOT possible to change stuff like that. (For example I assigned TAB to mean Toggle Kana)

MY PROBLEM:
Firefox only works with the Natural Input style. I can't use IME Standard with firefox somehow... And I really need it because of all the buttons I reassigned.

Does anyone know why this is and if it can be fixed? Thanks so much!

Keyboard problems: IME Standard - tristanthorn - 2009-07-28

Hi
I use an English OS (XP) and a Japanese keyboard. My default option for typing in Firefox is Microsoft IME Standard 2002 ver.8.1. I don't know why you can't choose this option, but I just thought I'd let you know that it is possible to use with firefox. I didn't do anything special to activate it, it was the default option.

Possibly this only works with a Japanese keyboard.
