Ok this has been bugging me for a while but which 冷 is the correct one?

Dunno if it's just the font (ok obviously they're 2 different fonts)
but look at the character in the thread title and this 冷
The lower part is slightly different.

They're both "correct", I think the second one is just a more handwritten-style font (it's how I write it actually). It's like the difference between a typed and handwritten 'a'. You can check out Yamasa for examples of kanji in handwritten fonts.

Like Jaunty said, both are correct, it's just different fonts. I easily prefer the second one, but the first one is extremely common in signs etc in Japan.

Ah, thanks for the clear up guys! Smile

The first one is far more common and will register in someone's mind much more immediately.

I got wrist slapped for writing it the first way.... but that was for Chinese.

Don't be fooled. It's a ploy by the illuminati to slowly shape kanzi/hanzi into Roman letters.

Kazelee, you've been taking some crack lately? Please get some sleep Wink

Yea I used to write the second always, then I saw the first one quite often and wrote it that way, then I'd see the second one pop up every now and then and my hand got confused.

Get some sleep and change your avatar. You went from artificial to odd and a little off-putting.

Is there some specific reason you're using a severed head without eyes that looks like it was created in Blender by a 5th grader?
