numbers in Index 5 of RTK II exceed numbers in RTK I - why - mrubiwara - 2009-07-10

I'm just completing Vol I of RTK and I'm trying to understand why in Index #5 of RTK Vol. II where they are cross-indexed there are about 200 more listed than in Vol. I. I'm sure there's a simple answer / reason but I haven't been able to figure it out. Help please!

RTK2 is organised by ON readings. Some characters have more than one ON reading and will have a separate entry number for each.

In case it's useful, here is a cross-reference for RTK1/2 numbers in electronic form.

Thank you very much Katsuo-san. I've downloaded the table and I'm sure I'll find it useful as I begin RTK 2 - still much to review in RTK 1!
