timeboxing apps - nest0r - 2009-07-04 So what are some good apps for timeboxing outside of Anki? I'm looking for something ultra-simple, myself, like a simple timer that's easy to set... Actually, is there a script that would create something similar to what Anki has? I love the way it reverts back to the time-settings screen when the time is up. Well, maybe that wouldn't be so great, in case data might be lost during the switch. ;p timeboxing apps - nest0r - 2009-07-04 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7472 Works for me! Virtual tea timer. Simple, hip, effective. timeboxing apps - nac_est - 2009-07-05 In Ubuntu there's this "timer-applet" that's just perfect for me. It's incredibly simple and it sits in your system bar ready to count down as much as you want. timeboxing apps - magamo - 2009-07-05 Not exactly what nest0r asked for, but I set the wallpaper preference so it changes every 1 hour. It's nice when you want to stop spending too much time on one thing. timeboxing apps - nest0r - 2009-07-05 I thought about setting up something indirect like that as well, magamo. I might try it out. I never really timeboxed outside of Anki before, it's kind of odd. A whole world of experimentation awaits. But that's fine, I can combine ideas now (but I digress). |
