Leeches - zazen666 - 2009-07-02 I've had quite a few, how about you? Leeches - Musashi - 2009-07-02 zazen666 Wrote:I've had quite a few, how about you?eew! Get them off!! You been swimming in lakes?
Leeches - zazen666 - 2009-07-02 ha! Leeches - Mcjon01 - 2009-07-02 I've been trying to put as many leeches in my deck as possible, to help with my summer cold. Leeches - Squintox - 2009-07-02 The card that tests the reading for 譲歩 x_x Leeches - welldone101 - 2009-07-02 Funnily enough a card getting tagged a leach ticks me off so much I seem to remember it after that. So far I love this new system! (only 3 so far though, hmm) Leeches - zazen666 - 2009-07-02 Mcjon01 Wrote:I've been trying to put as many leeches in my deck as possible, to help with my summer cold.another wise guy
Leeches - vosmiura - 2009-07-02 Some cards that I added before learning ended up with lots of repetitions (20+) until I learned them. I stopped doing adding new sentences before learning all the new vocab a month ago, and the number of lapses improved dramatically. Anki's doing a pretty sweet job. Lapse statistics: 70% never lapsed 10% lapsed once 10% lapsed twice Leeches - Asriel - 2009-07-02 I like to give back to the community when I can. Sometimes I leech, but that's only if I have nothing that I can give back. Leeches - yukamina - 2009-07-02 Okay, what's a leech? Leeches - Squintox - 2009-07-02 yukamina Wrote:Okay, what's a leech?A card you failed more than 15 times (customizable). New feature in Anki that auto-suspends them so you can deal with them later. Leeches - welldone101 - 2009-07-02 It's a little worm that sucks your blood. I was going through the boundary waters once and found one halfway out of the water on a rock; it was thicker than my thumb and about 6 inches long. It also had green speckles, the weirdest one I ever saw. Not eve sure nowadays if it was a leech or not but it sure looked like one. Mostly though we'd find them on our feet after wading through the lake, about .5 cm long and all around especially between your toes. Salt gets them off when they are too small to pluck. Leeches - erlog - 2009-07-02 I like the leech feature. It was something I was already kind of doing before that here and before I switched to anki. It's a good system, but you have to make use of it for it to work. I've heard people give advice saying to straight out just delete leech cards, but I don't see how that's of any use. I mean, if it's in your deck then you probably thought at one point you were supposed to learn it right? I do the opposite with leeches. I find 2 other sentences with the specific vocabulary that I'm messing up, and add those. Then I unsuspend the card. That usually does the trick. I just switched to anki for my sentence SRS'ing 4 days ago. I don't have any official leeches yet, but I do have one card that got almost halfway there. Leeches - nac_est - 2009-07-03 For some reason I have had none so far. I'm starting to think my version might be broken. Leeches - wrightak - 2009-07-03 Maybe you're just doing it right. ![]() It's easy to check. Turn on card statistics as you're reviewing and see if any of the cards have 15 or more failures. Also, go to the editor, order by reps, and see if any of the ones at the bottom have 15 or more failures. Leeches - mafried - 2009-07-03 Hahaha this thread makes a lot more sense now... I guess I should update Anki. Musashi Wrote:eew! Get them off!! You been swimming in lakes? Was thinking the same thing...

Maybe they just haven't shown up since the update yet... Leeches - Nukemarine - 2009-07-03 It's missed more than 16 times, not reviewed more than 16 times. In addition, Anki will only check at the cut-off (16 default) and multiples of half that afterwards (24, 32, 40 at default). I don't think I have a card yet that I missed more than 16 times so far. On RTK, there's about 30 cards I've missed 10 or more times topping off at 15 misses for diligence (damn that Swarzenegger and his inability to juggle Cabbage patch kids with due diligence). Leeches - b0ng0 - 2009-07-03 For leeches, do you need to un-suspend them to get them back in the deck or will they stay suspended until you chuck 'em back in? Leeches - superdry - 2009-07-03 You have to fail a card 15 times before it becomes a leech? That sounds way too long. If you've failed the card 15 times, you obviously don't know it and it shouldn't be a part of your repetitions in an SRS. Leeches - erlog - 2009-07-03 wrightak Wrote:If you fail the card that often in a row then it will take you 15 days for it to be flagged as a leech. That's fine with me. I mean you are seeing it everyday.nac_est Wrote:I have 412 cards that I've reviewed more than 15 times. Some go up to 49 times. Leeches - Akira117 - 2009-08-18 So on my kanji deck I have several leeches, anyone have an idea of how to take them out? I guess I will start by making a new mnemonic for each one. Leeches - FL1PPY - 2009-08-18 I just got my first one, 滞. |
