I really would like to know how to replace all instances of certain kanji with other forms. Like 学 with 學。 'Cause it looks cool 8) Naw, really, I love the traditional forms of characters much more than the simplified.
So is there a simple way to do this? I don't have have to type がく・かく to get 學格。 I want to be able to type がっこう and get 學格 instead of 学校。
Help much appreciated!

If I recall correctly, there should be some kind of customizable whatsit somewhere in your IME properties, maybe. Or there isn't, but it can't hurt to look.

You'll have to add a custom entry for all the words containing that character. The best strategy to avoid doing that manually would be to generate a list of words from a dictionary like EDICT and format it in the IME custom dictionary format, search/replace 学 by 學 and then import your custom IME dictionary. You will then have both versions available.

This seems to do what Squintox described. Down load the latest version and follow the instruction on the website to install. It seems to be a text file in the IME dictionary format Codexus explained. I don't have a PC so I can't speak for it though.
I heard there were a few commercial Japanese input systems for traditional kanji. I think they should work much better, but they probably analyze sentence structure to change kana into kanji using old Japanese grammar and vocabulary for obvious reasons. Don't quote me on this though. I've never used them.
This is an online converter. Check "しない" for 旧仮名遣い変換 if you want to use contemporary Japanese kana grammar.
As Mcjon01 mentioned, you can also customize your kana-kanji conversion one by one. For example, you can set your IME so it can covert ゆ to 友律可.

Just on the topic of old forms being much cooler ( I agree 90% of the time I do however occasional prefer the Japanese simplified version ( Chinese simplification is all ugly shit ) eg 檜 Isn't as nice looking to me as 桧 ） I reckon 訳 is shit compared to 譯 and 庁 doesn't even approach the sheer awesomeness of 廳.
