My take on the Movie Method - bennyb - 2009-06-22

I started a blog today called The Movie Method in Action, or tMMiA for short. It's my take on Alyks' method, and is made for use after finishing RTK1. Basically I dropped including primitives in the "story" for each individual kanji that shares an on-yomi and is therefore included in the movie. I've stripped it down to just one movie and X number of keywords/characters that have the same pronunciation. This way it's strictly for on-yomi retention. I'm making what I'll call "templates" for each movie, and just uploaded my first one. Any kind of feedback is appreciated.

Props to RtK, this site and Alyks whose idea this originally was are all included in my introduction, of course.

I don't get it. You say Half-baked is イツ, yet you include 員, 韻 and 因. Neither of them can be pronounced イツ, those are all pronounced イン.

edit: Blech! My viewer was reading the file wrong, I had the wrong pronunciation! I'm gonna fix this a.s.a.p. Thanks!

I've just finished up another entry, this time using a T.V. show for a short onyomi list (South Park). I'm 99% certain there are no errors this time. Check it out if you're interested, thanks guys.

And don't worry, I'm not gonna post here after every update and start spamming the board, just looking for initial feedback at the moment.

What advantages does your modified method provide?

Well I don't know about advantages - it isn't heavily changed or anything - it just takes away the need for including every "primitive" of each kanji in your stories that link them to the movies. In other words, it's made for people done with RTK1, not as a substitute for it.

And my site is about providing some kind of template for each movie - I'm pretty much doing it for myself, so I figured I might as well post it on the internet, in case anyone else could find it useful.
