So, being a fan of webcomics, I've been trying to see how the Japanese do with the concept.

My conclusion on what I've seen and experienced so far is that Japanese webcomics can go to :: ahem :: the bad place.

Every single site either uses a flash reader (annoying as all get out to navigate and causes performance problems on my netbook) or, even worse, a downloadable proprietary reader.

So, before I completely give up on the idea of Japanese webcomics, does anyone have plain old jpeg format Japanese webcomics to share, or at least a way to extract the images from flash used on different sites so I can read them on my own terms in my own comfirt?

There's a Japanese translation of xkcd - A webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language.

I can't say I've ever seen a Japanese webcomic. I think the people who would be drawn to that sort of concept just do doujinshi or flash animation.

-edit-
I guess they do exist. http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/日本のウェブコミック配信サイト一覧
