Financial Aid in Japan - animedirtbag - 2009-06-11

Hey guys!

I was curious, and I couldn't find any info on it. I am planning to go to a college in Osaka in two years. I was wondering, because it's not a transfer (Haven't been to college yet) does anyone know how financial aid would work? Especially seeing as people with Student Visas usually can't hold jobs...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can apply for a work permission if your university is okay with it. Lots of people at my university do it, the ones I know usually work at restaurants or as language tutors. Some also work at convenience stores.
Seeing how you're from the states, you could probably be a part time English teacher. Just don't get caught working without a permission. There's a 2.000.000 Yen fine waiting for those who do.

Also, you might want to read about Jasso: http://www.jasso.go.jp/study_j/scholarships_sfisij_e.html
Some of my friends receive a Jasso scholarship, but you're not guaranteed to be accepted, so don't count on it.

Thanks ^_^

I was really worried about it, and no one had been able to give me any information on it.
