Yeah, I think the problem is I need to make some change to the deck itself. If I back out of a stall it won't resume downloading missing media unless the deck has been updated somehow.

I'm happy to hear about the listening to music while using ankimobile fix. I was a little bummed when I got myself into Anki with music playing, and the music started to fade away after I answered the first question.

Media problem has been sorted out thankfully.
There was another problem mentioned on the anki forum with the learn more and review early buttons. I've been having the same problem, I click on them but they won't open. It just refreshes the congratulations screen.
Just a guess, but I think this happens when I have failed cards still to review. On the desktop client I can clear all my failed cards straight away in the same review session but anki mobile delays it for some reason, so I can't I can't review them soon after I've failed them. I've tried using the buttons when I haven't failed any cards and then it works fine.

Just want to throw in here that I've been using the app exclusively to do my reviews since release and I absolutely LOVE it. It makes it easy for me to get my reviews done in downtime while I'm out so I don't have to dread them when I get home and I'm tired.
Also, the media addition was very nice.

I've been using it to do the majority of my reviews even when I'm sitting near my computer -- it's just a nicer experience, tapping the screen idly while I write.
One thing I have yet to be able to duplicate reliably is cards being listed as 'failed' but never coming up for review -- I don't *think* they're really failed, it's just a ghost listing of 3-5 cards or whatever that never show up. When I sync back and open it up on the PC there are usually zero failed cards.
It doesn't seem to do anything bad, and I have no real way to replicate it, so I'm not entirely sure why it happens. Syncing to PC, modifying something, and syncing back down fixes it though.
The only other bug I experienced was the next card never coming up, it'd progress (you could see the cards counting down), but the display never changed. Just closing and reopening the app fixed that, though, and I've only seen it happen once in ... a lot of hours.
Really looking forward to the next update; since I'm jailbroken I'll probably play around with some of the CSS amusement as well.

Never had an Iphone, or any Apple product for that matter, but I just got an Iphone 4 and this was the first thing I added. I was iffy as to how usable it would really be, but honestly it is awesome. My text only decks set up fine. My only issue was with my media decks, as I'm getting the "missing media" error. However, I haven't optimized by database in forever so once I get home I'll try that. If it works I honestly can't see why I'd use the PC version again.
Just a tiny suggestion, but when you are first setting everything up, on the screen where you can enter in your password or click a create a new AnkiOnline account, I think it might be nice to have an actual "Login" button for those with an existing account. If you enter in your username and password on that screen it isn't immediately obvious that you are simply supposed to click on the "Decks" button on the top left. At first it made me think that I was forced to set up a new account no matter what.

After backing up your media folder just in case, please try running a 'check media db'. If you still get errors, enter the reported URL in your browser and see what comes up.

This was for a 411mb media deck though (KO2001 with audio and all sentences in image form) so I guess that is reasonable? The deck still works fine on my netbook though so hopefully this will fix the issue (going to wait until I have Wifi access to try downloading it, for obvious reasons).

As far as I know ko2001 should have about 12,000 files. If you have less than that and haven't deleted any cards, then something is wrong.

After I did the first 1,000 Kanji in KO2001 I switched to a vocab only deck for the rest. If the entire media deck is 12,000 files for 2,000 Kanji then I guess it deleting about 6,000 unused references would make perfect sense in my case.

The new update is nice. Makes the app seem that much more professional.
I still occassionally have a problem where the review session suddenly ends when I still haven't cleared my failed cards or even when there are still due cards remaining. I went over my desktop client settings at it all seems fine (I've never had a problem with the desktop version).

I'm still loving the app, but I'm having more trouble with the latest update on my iPad. Often when I touch the screen, the card doesn't flip. I sometimes have to hunt for the right hotspot. On the other hand, sometimes it flips right away. It seems to depend on how many lines the answer contains. Is this working as designed? Maybe it's an iPad-only problem?
Also, I rather miss the larger buttons at the bottom. On the iPad, the new buttons are a bit harder to hit. I like seeing the day-delay, though.
Any chance we'll see deck stats or graphs? I'm now reviewing entirely on my iPad, and I miss the pretty graphs.
I have yet to try transferring media to my iPad, mostly because my PC died, heh. I'll try it in a week or two, when I have a new machine.
