Have you seen Nihongoup? (http://nihongoup.com/)

It looks like a decent idea but I was put off by this part in the "coming soon" section:

JLPT 3 and JLPT 2 sentence lists for the Kanji exercises

...so it claims to teach particles in context, JLPT kanji and JLPT vocabulary, but only goes up to JLPT4 level? According to Wikipedia that's 100 kanji and 800 words, which for an application that costs money is extremely limited.

JLPT4 is the lowest level. It goes up to JLPT2 according to that quote. JLPT2 = 1000+ kanji. 6000+ vocab.

Yeah, and those things are listed in the "coming soon," section. Which means they aren't in the program.

Then I agree, that price is a joke.

I just bought it and they sent me a license. The problem is that allows for one installation only. The developer was very kind and gave me another license, however it would really be nice to have the ability to install several (3-5) times. The developer also said that they are working on it:

"Sadly, my shareware activation system provider doesn't support this feature yet. I already told them that it would be nice to allow 5 or even unlimited installations and they are planning to add this feature in the near future."

Regarding functionality, I think it does what it says it does and the games are a nice get away for when you are feeling overwhelmed.

Thnx for trying or even buying my game Smile

First of all, JLPT 3 list, as well as some other updates, should be ready this weekend. Evidently, all updates are free, and if you are at a JLPT4/3 level you can buy the game without worrying about your investment (JLPT 2 list will be ready next month and the game will automatically prompt you to install the autoupdate).

Also, to all those who are studying kanji with Heisig's RTK (probably the majority of this site), I'm considering an RTK adopted mode in the future (although I can't say when it'll be added or how it'll work).

What exactly IS this game? Can someone describe it?

You can always try the trial version...

In hiragana nad katakana modes, you have to type falling kana readings (as you would type Japanese using IME) - this improves one kana recognition and typing speed.

In kanji and particles modes, one has yo choose one of the four options (kanji characters or particles) that can be correctly placed at the marked position in the sentence displayed in the lower part of the screen.
