can someone give me a quick explanation of how to import the Google Documents into Anki... I see the export option on Google Doc. that says export into .csv .html .ods .pdf .txt and .xls .... i'm not sure which one to pick and what to do from there... thanks for the help anyone

.csv, .txt and .xls should work, depending on what you pick in Ankis import option.
.xls is a spreadsheet document, .txt is tab separated textfile, .csv is comma separated textfile.

Anki can't import Excel sheets. You need a list separated by TABS or SEMICOLONS.
To do that from Excel I think you just save as *.txt file.
