Starting RTK up again - lazar - 2009-05-02 Hi guys, I've finished school and am planning on starting up again any day now... I left off with 508 kanji, and am wondering if its better to reset my review cards or start the review from where I left off with the expired cards (505 to review out of 508) ? Also any tips from anybody? (I plan on going through all 500 or so and seeing what I don't remember, then reviewing those until they're not a problem anymore) Starting RTK up again - Ryuujin27 - 2009-05-02 I'd review all those 500 and see where you stand. If it's under... say 80 failed, I think you'd be ok. Hell, even if you fail 200, just take the time to go through those again and reinforce the stories. If, however, you think going through the 500 again will give you more of a... rhythm?, well then, go for it. You'll find it will be 100x easier the second time though. Trust me, I had to restart 3 times to be able to get to 1700 where I am now. Very much trying to finish as soon as possible this time! Starting RTK up again - lazar - 2009-05-02 great, thanks! Starting RTK up again - chamcham - 2009-08-25 I did something similar. I remember only up to about 950, even though I finished the book(although I really rushed the second half). So what I did was erase all my cards and added 950. I reviewed all 950 little by little using any free time I had (using my iPod Touch and 3G phone). Even in a few minutes i could get 10 cards done. I kept reviewing and re-learning those 950 kanji for a whole month. The next month I added 500 cards and spent time just learning those cards for a whole month. Like before, I pretty focused only on those cards. And for the next month I did the last 500 or so. So instead of constantly learning new kanji every day, I split it into 3 big chunks and spent a whole month studying each chunk. Anyway, hope you got a chance to finish RTK (or are making progress towards finishing it). Thanks. |
