JLPT 1級　Summer 2009 - smithem - 2009-04-29

While doubting that I'll pass, I've sent the application off.
I passed 2級 last December, but I'm unlikely to be fully prepared come July...
I wondered how everyone else was preparing for the tests.

At the moment, I've coupled Anki with example grammar sentences from the Unicom book.
(Thanks for doing the typing, random Chinese students!)

The good thing about the Unicom grammar book is that it's bundled with a CD with all the example sentences. It's really helping me to get a grasp of how it should sound.

I hope to start practicing the reading comprehension next month...

Can you enlighten us as to where we might be able to find the typing of random Chinese students? Tongue

Not wanting to cause trouble for the forum, I don't I should link..
But if you combine a typed-out sentence from one of your grammar books with the searchy might of google, you should find something.
Adding 文法　and 一級 should also help.

Have you gotten your confirmation and test site information, yet? Now that it is only a month away, I'm worried that maybe my application didn't go through.

I haven't done any specific preparation lately. :-( I have the Unicom mock test book, so I'm planning to do a mock test & address problem areas.

I'm reading the newspaper some a few times a week and just living in Japan, having conversations and so on. I haven't looked at RTK in months, but the newspaper has gotten easier and more interesting recently. Hopefully that's a good sign. I've heard that Heisig tells his own students to read the newspaper everyday regardless of whether or not they understand anything.

I got mine through the post yesterday, and I sent mine off at the very last moment. I'm sure yours will come soon. I'm massively underprepared, particularly (arguably the most important part) vocabulary. Oh well, we'll see how it goes...

Wow you guys are applying so early. I will be applying for JLPT3 this year from my university. They do most of the work for us (like getting the forms Tongue). I'm lazy with all documentation/secretarial sort of shit.
