I've read that it's better for your memory if you add each kanji yourself, but from what I've seen this website and other memory programs already have the kanji built in. I'm really confused on that, probably a dumb question but I need to know.

I think it means that every time you learn a new kanji (in the order Heisig presents it), you should write it down once. Pre-built decks in Anki and this site are still fine to use.

Nah, don't worry about it. When you're done with sentences and use an SRS to learn sentences, you might notice a difference with sentences you handpicked instead of simply mass imported... but the difference is quite small. As long as you write the kanji one or twice and put enough time into thinking of a good mnemonic/story/image, there shouldn't be any problem.

Thank you both very much. Just did 20 of them, feel like doing more but I'm sure reviewing and failed cards will fill that void later on...
