Hi,

the reading feature of this website is really helpful but we need to be connected to internet to use it, i was wondering if there is an off line version of this feature, or a software which do the same thing.

I have been wondering the same thing. Rickaichan will work offline, but I suppose only when viewing a web-page or archive offline. What I would go crazy for is something like Rikaichan that would work to read documents, especially Word or e-mail.

For email, rikai-chan works as a Thunderbird add-on too.

I believe StarDict is meant to do that. I haven't tried it however. http://stardict.sourceforge.net/

Daijirin and other dictionaries also have similar features.

They are not as easy to use as Rikai-chan, but they are not Edict. Their definitions are of far superior quality.
