something to do with "last" and "sport"?

do idea unless i google it and i believe that you DON'T want us to guess so...

i am particualrily unfond of katakana words just be cause they are a pain to pronounce and spell. i'd have to say something like ドンマイ is a good katakana word. still, pretty stupid though.

edit: [don't]

"Last spurt"?
My favorite word for obvious reasons is ガスパチョ.
Peace,
Pepe

hehe, what context did you see that word in? Mine is probably バイキング - but there's plenty of good ones to choose from! I especially like the ones made from two words that are both shortened so neither sounds like the origional. They make for a fun game to play with your classmates aswell.

Hilarious, but what's wrong with 追い込み?

I like the ones that seem to be modelling British English accent by completely ignoring final Rs such as ドア and チェア and also words like ラブラブ and ラブホ that (like the accent of south-east England) pronounce love as "lav", except of course charmingly substituting B for V. It just tickles me for some reason.

Katakana-isms really seem to be getting out of control these days, though. Probably by the time I've "remembered the kanji" they'll have stopped using them and I'll be able to able to speak Japanese with loan words, a few conjuctions and loan word + する for all the verbs.

Bingo! I had no idea, but it was talking about a foot race, so it eventually sunk in.

What's that Hyland1? I tried to cheat, but Jim Breen didn't have it either.
Pangolin Wrote:Hilarious, but what's wrong with 追い込み?
Nothing - excellent vocab Pangolin.

ラブラブ Love Love It is used just as "lovey dovey" is used in the states. Look at how lovey-dovey they are! あの二人はラブラブだよね。

Is ラ・メール a ramen restaurant? It's on page 263 of JFE.
