Wrong rendering of some kanji - hotkiller123 - 2009-03-07 I've had some trouble with the rendering of some characters. I use Firefox and I've tried to change the encoding (in the toolbar under view, character encoding). Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?? Thus far the rendering was only incorrect for 溢 and 錆, which are both out of the jouyou kanji. As for the rust kanji in the lower right corner I see 円 and not 月. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Wrong rendering of some kanji - yukamina - 2009-03-07 Looks like traditional(Chinese) versions of those characters. Wrong rendering of some kanji - Katsuo - 2009-03-07 I think this is related to the font used rather than the encoding. Outside the Joyo kanji some characters can change considerably with the choice of font. If you're using a recent Mac, try comparing "Hiragino Mincho Pro" with "Hiragino Mincho ProN". (To see the kinds of differences that can occur, try pasting the following characters into "TextEdit" or similar word-processing software and compare those fonts. 辻賭牙艘倦哨噌噂恢捗擢溺淫溢瀞愈榊笈籾卿.)
