I'm part of a band called White Ashes. It really has very little to do with Japanese, except for the kanji logo on our page, but if you like listening to interesting music, give us a listen:

I once thought of buying a guitar case and strapping it to my back just to see the reaction from girls as I walked around the 三条 district of Kyoto. Since I can't play, I wonder how long I could keep up the act.
Japan does seem to be a kind of elephant graveyard where 80's metal bands go to die.
