Changing the koohii font - chully - 2009-02-26 I love this site, I really do. I've just finished another review. I review by writing the kanji down and comparing my writing with what's on the screen. As I haven't finished the first book of RTK yet, I feel a little out of place saying this, but ... It's too bad that the font used on screen is MS明朝 -- I have a few fonts on my computer here that I'd rather use. I am not failing my kanji because they are ugly now (as long as the elements are all there), but I want to practice with something that looks more like handwriting. Brush or pen, either is fine, and I have a good font that looks like professional brushwork that I would feel better imitating. When I finish RTK 1 I definitely need to review again and improve the layout of my strokes so the kanji comes out with good balance. In firefox, I can go into the options and change the default font, go into the advanced settings box, and check a box so my font choice overrides the web site's font choice, and then do my reviews. Then I have to change back or every other web site on the internet looks awful. I use a HGS 教-nantoka font, and it's terrible for eigo. The process is irritating. Am I the only one that does this? Is it too much to wish for that the review pages use the browser's preferred serif font? Would that upset people I can't imagine? Is there an easier way? Maybe I should use a separate browser with crazy settings just for my kanji reviews. Changing the koohii font - sethg - 2009-02-26 I just made a post about this. There is a Greasemonkey script you can get. My thread is in General Discussion as well. Follow the link. Then, once the script is installed, go to the "my profile" section and at the bottom, you'll be able to change your font. Edit: Here's my thread: http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=2656 Changing the koohii font - chully - 2009-02-27 Doh. What timing, too. Thanks a bunch! The screenshot there looks like just what I wanted. Now I just gotta figure out what this greasemnkey nonsense is. Thank you!! |
