When would you ever use this sentence? ;p
It's in there for 漢字 purposes, of course.
Yeah, it's a good sentence for repetition of kanji and grammar and stuff. I mean, just knowing the word "店員" is enough to say the sentence serves a purpose. And then there's the reinforcement of a common word, "突然".
Not necessarily a sentence to memorize and "use" later or something. But who knows, there might come a situation...

Oh my, playadom utterly defeated my ";p" faced joke with a deadpan response. Well played.

One day we'll refer to all the pre-robot years like this, to describe the barbarism of the past, once we acclimate to new levels of disaffection and politeness.

I'm interested in the way some of you actually underline some words in the sentence. What is that for? Do you write only those parts down?

*************************************+
This is an old one, taken from a 中学校 history book. You can see that I used to put a lot of definitions. Then I changed to a lighter+faster format, with few or zero definitions, like the one in my first post.

Q) 縄文時代といえば、毛皮を着て、動物を追いかけて移住する姿を想像してしまいます

A)じょうもん じだい と いえば、 けがわ を きて、 どうぶつ を おいかけて いじゅう する すがた を そうぞう して しまいます
毛皮(けがわ):毛のついたままの動物の皮
皮(かわ):「皮」
移住(いじゅう):外国へ移り住むこと
移る(うつる):場所がかわる

I also just realised that the definition for 移住 is not really appropriate to the sentence, since we're talking about prehistory Tongue

I haven't started doing so yet, but I was speculating in another thread about colour-coding recognition sentences--for vocabulary, this would be highlighting certain words (perhaps with certain themes, such as green for financial or plant-related items... or green for green ;p), simply to draw my gaze towards them. Same with particles and grammar points and whatnot. I usually write down new words or words I'm iffy on, to add analytical and gestural support to the memory process.

A) あたらしいくうこうについてどうおもういますか。 きれいですが、ちょっとこうつうかふべんだとおもいます。
What do you think of the new airport? I think it is clean but the access is not easy.
Isn't that supposed to be 交通が不便?
You missed the more obvious mistake of 思いますか. Is this an example from a native Japanese source? It seems pretty odd.

I color-highlight important words in definitions red so I don't have to read the whole thing to quickly check my understanding, but that's it. It would be a good idea for long sentences, to focus the mind on that word, but a better solution is just short sentences.

背中が○○○する
虫などが蠢くさま。またそのような感じを受けるさま。
---
背中がもぞもぞする

That's not really a sentence card though. The first sentence that came up was from sub2srs

(絵)
サラリーマンの父親に専業主婦の母親。

(Audio)
サラリーマンのちちおやにせんぎょうしゅふのははおや。
【専業主婦】職に就かないで、家事に専念する主婦。

What are you talking about, it's 思います just like it's supposed to be.

"どう思ういますか" is what J7's referring to, I believe.

I think transcription error is the obvious suspect in this case.

Frequency analysis of Dr. G. Oogle's corpus, when restricted to Japanese pages gives 211,000 for 癇癪 and 199,000 for かんしゃく. :p

I saw a beginner Chinese textbook that assigned a color to each tone. That made for some pretty psychedelic sentences.

OK, after that exchange, the risk of further embarrassment has now thoroughly put me off the idea of ever posting anything again.

良質な作画で描かれているものの、狙い澄ました路線や、楽屋ネタやら一定層にしかわからないネタ、楽しませる事よりも奇抜さを狙った構成等、話題を集めるべくして作られた作品といった印象が付いて回り、些か安直過ぎる作りではないかとも思える。

澄ました= 液体の、にごり・よごれなどの不純物を除いて透き通った状態にする ()
付(つ)いて回・る=

Well to be quite honest I had troubleunderstanding this sentence the first few timesIr ead it/ when it showed up in the reviewsbut now I have no trouble understanding this sentence.

Old card I recently failed because I misread 仕方[しかた].

EDIT: I just noticed this thread is pretty damn old lol

Whoa, that is a long sentence...

Heres the first card that showed up today
Question:
本番はこれからだ!あんな爆発でびびるな!

Answer:
本番 = ほん・ばん
びびる

I didn't bother puting definitions, since I can remember it from context.
