I'm using xtra broadband and use Mozilla Firefox I feel extreemly stupid for having to ask this... - ryuusei86 - 2009-02-14 You need to get the IME activated for Japanese on your computer, if you have a PC. If you do a Google search for "Japanese IME XP" or "Japanese IME Vista," you should get a bunch of hits, probably at least one or two of which will be helpful. If you're running a Mac, though, I can't help, but probably someone else here can. I feel extreemly stupid for having to ask this... - Delina - 2009-02-14 What operating system are you using? If you are using Windows (XP or Vista), you might need the operating system install disk(s) to add Asian language support. I've done this several times with XP and once with Vista, so if you need help please feel free to e-mail me. For Other OS's just google the OS name and japanese input for directions. But, if you're running XP, there's a way around this. Set your OS language to Japanese as the primary language, then restart. As long as the Japanese language pack is installed, you will have access to the IME, and will have skirted the MS office issue. You could also d/l JWPce, the free J-E word processor. I believe there should a button that says "kana." Try clicking that button and seeing if that helps. If not try pressing alt+shift.
