For example, I am trying to make Code Geass episode 1 deck. First few combinations are ok, but after that some cards only have background music or text from different part.
if they don't line up, you'll have to use a program like aegisub to fix it. some shows have an intermission thing in the middle, and the subs might have to be adjusted for that as well.
if they do line up correctly, then the problem is something else and i don't know.

I have a feature suggestion. After reviewing my flashcards, I like to watch the full movie and test my comprehension. However, since testing comprehension is my intent, I get bored during sequences with little-to-no dialogue. It would be great if you could use the subtitle tool to make a condensed version of the video file that is mostly dialogue.
It's possible to do this already with subs2srs by exporting all of the video clips associated with a subtitle and then stringing them together into a longer video clip. However, the result is not optimal. Words get clipped off, as well as, other jarring cuts. I think, though, there is a way to do this that results in a smooth and watchable edit that maximizes one's learning time.
All you would have to do is take a bit of dialogue, and then see if the next bit of dialogue is within 5 seconds (or a user-adjusted amount of time). If it is within 5 seconds, make the video continuous. If it is more than 5 seconds, then it does a cross dissolve to the next bit of dialogue, however further it is in the movie.
I really think a condensed cut of a video file will sit side-by-side with Anki reviews very well.

Signed up to post a feature request, but before that, thank you so much for making this fantastic software. It's doing a great job of helping me learn French.
I know I can add /N to the end of a line in a subtitle to make it merge with the next one, but is it possible to add a feature where you can just select the two lines in the preview box that gets thrown up and tell it to merge like that? It would save editing the subtitles and seems a more powerful way of doing things.

I have a problem when trying to convert a file with sbs2srs,
when I click to "go" or "preview" I get the following error message:

This happens only if I modify the file (if I try to join multiple lines together)
The problem occurs only with Death Note subs, I always do the same with other .ass files but things go smoothly.
Does anyone have the slightest idea about what goes wrong? That error message is Greek to me

the problem is probably the "marked=0" part. just look at the sub that's giving the error and compare it to one that works. (maybe something changed after modifying it) an example:
The beginning of a sub file that works:
Format: Layer, Start, End, Style, Name, MarginL, MarginR, MarginV, Effect, Text
Dialogue: 0,0:02:29.17,0:02:32.04,opjp,NTP,0,0,0,,{\fad(50,50)}放て！心に刻んだ夢を
Dialogue: 0,0:02:32.06,0:02:35.83,opjp,NTP,0,0,0,,{\fad(20,50)}未来さえ置き去りにして
the beginning of one that gives that error:
Format: Marked, Start, End, Style, Name, MarginL, MarginR, MarginV, Effect, Text
Dialogue: Marked=0,0:01:38.10,0:01:39.40,*Default,NTP,0000,0000,0000,,見つけた

All I had to do was replace "Marked" with "Layer", and all the "Marked=0" with "0". (use the "replace..." function in notepad). this seems to apply to other errors as well. just compare to a working sub file and fix the differences. for example, the Hanasaku Iroha subs didn't work until i removed the extra style formatting stuff.

I just struggled a bit with encoding (I had to change encode type in subs2srs as well because otherwise kanji were unrecognizable signs).

can anybody give an advice. I have problems with creating an anki desk: when I'm trying to import a tsv file it works only for the first card. I got this message:
"Appeared twice in file: ...."

vobsub2text is a utility that uses OCR technology to automatically convert
VOBSUB subtitles (.idx/.sub) to subrip (.srt) subtitles
Japanese, Chinese and English language vobsubs are supported.

Requires the .Net Framework and Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7.

I had trouble running this on Windows 10, so I've compiled a newer version of nhocr, v0.21, from https://github.com/matthewn4444/win-nhocr (doesn't use cygwin) and recompiled vobsub2text with VS2015 and it worked.

Unfortunately, nhocr doesn't seem to recognize characters in italics at all. It also seems to get complex kanji wrong often. I also found that dark gray text color works better than pure black.

(I tried with my roommate's computer, too.. and it was the same problem..)
