Does anyone else find that events out of their control unintentionally timebox them on a regular basis?

For instance: I do my iKnow from my laptop because my armchair is more comfortable. But my laptop run out of battery in just over an hour. This means that I'm timeboxed to that hour and I know it ahead of time.

Hehe does having an angry wife count? Saying you'd better be in bed by "X time" or you're in a lot of trouble?!?

It seems that My Japanese studies are getting on a few people's nerves Big Grin

It's better than going out and getting trashed, or meeting women LOL

Anyways, when that happens, you know you have til that time and that's it. It may not exactly be a proper timebox, but it can motivate me to get as much done in there as possible.

That's pretty much exactly what I was thinking in my situation. "I've only got the next hour to get my studies in, so I'd best be on about it." It seems to be working really well so far.

I take my laptop to anki with while on a train/bus/car/etc. I'm limited by the length of the ride.

I had an extended/extremely large timeboxing session. It basically spanned the entire month of January (ends next monday). I had off of school this month, so I was like, "Dang! We gonna timebox this beast and finish it off!" But...I won't be finished by monday, lol...

Anki する?

If you can summer in Japan, you can anki while norring a bus[see, I invented a new bilingual slang here]

But yeah, using words like that is a stretch. Just a skosh[and now you're thinking "enough with the bilingual slang already!"]

You can verb anything if you just wordify it.

I too, have a laptop. I specifically bought a lightweight and portable laptop, that way I can bring it to classes or wherever I need to and put what I want to straight in. No need to worry about notes!

Yeah, that's a real word. But not in English!

Anki する != 暗記する
