How Long have you been SRS-ing? - zazen666 - 2009-01-18

(....more or less everyday?)

For me, including this site, it`s just under one and a half years.

It kinds of interesting to realize how its become a part of my daily morning routine. I miss it when I dont do it!

I`m starting to see cards being pushed to 2.5 years and further, and I thinking, "wow-will I still be doing this then?" More than likely, I ` guessing...

Six months I guess? I often wonder how long I'll be doing it. I hope when I get a lot older I'll still be using Anki everyday.

How Long have you been SRS-ing? - Squintox - 2009-01-18

6-7 months.

I think I stumbled on Anki about a year/year and a half ago when I decided "I hate making/finding places to store flashcards, I wonder if there is a program that will do this for me on the computer?"

I've known about Anki for well over a year, but never actually used it until August of 2008, when I started SRSing for Spanish[something I'm no longer doing -- I'm quite busy now, and it was mostly an experiment].
I finished RTK last week, and I've been doing KO SRS for 3 or 4 days now.

I've only been doing it since October last year. But it's an excellent way for me to start my day, and I think I'll be doing it until I die. Or until I stop using computers...

Joined this site in April 2006 - used the system on this site for about 4 months.
Then moved to supermemo for another 6 months.
Then moved to Anki.

(Something like that anyway)

Since August 16, 2007, apparently. I had never heard of spaced repetition before I found this site.

How Long have you been SRS-ing? - nac_est - 2009-01-19

Since December 2006 on this site, since September 2007 on Anki. 懐かしいな〜

How Long have you been SRS-ing? - AmberUK - 2009-01-19

since may 2005 using supermemo.

How Long have you been SRS-ing? - stoked - 2009-01-19

About 1 month.

How Long have you been SRS-ing? - woodwojr - 2009-01-19

Since 5.4 months ago (more like 9 months ago if we count this site; I didn't start using Anki until I learned the shortcuts for LaTeX input. Why that isn't just the default (or better yet, only) input mode, I don't know).

About 2 months on mnemosyne. I guess you cant switch to Anki without losing your progress? I could use that suspend mode. But back then I didnt get how to manage different decks in Anki.

How Long have you been SRS-ing? - resolve - 2009-01-19

Anki should import your Mnemosyne deck and all its progress just fine.

How Long have you been SRS-ing? - Tobberoth - 2009-01-19

Oh, thats cool, thanks. Now to use it I just need to know, how to seperate different decks? And how can u get rid of the time above the answer (3 days ... ), its a bit irritating?

How Long have you been SRS-ing? - resolve - 2009-01-19

file->open, just like mnemosyne

you can turn off the next times in settings>preferences. but most people like the times. :-)

Nah, in Mnemosyne I dont open, I just press "activate category" ^^
the big problem: It wont show the chapters if I import the whole file into anki. That way its hard to find them in my Heisig. Besides, I got no way of seeing which ones I havent learned yet. Im confused...

How Long have you been SRS-ing? - resolve - 2009-01-19

'activate category' changes which categories are enabled, not which decks.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by 'show the chapters'.

How Long have you been SRS-ing? - HerrPetersen - 2009-01-19

My current anki-deck is around 1 year old. But before that I used a different SRS prog (Pauker). The kanji.kohii site since Jan 2007.

How Long have you been SRS-ing? - igordesu - 2009-01-19

heard of SRS about a year ago(?)-ish in the Wired magazine article about supermemo. Was planning on buying supermemo at some point, and I finally did 5 months ago. Started memorizing random vocab words. Didn't work. Then discovered sentence method and heisig and have been using this site and anki ever since. I really hope I'll be able to keep using Anki for years to come.

Sorry, its hard to explain. Well, in mnemosyne, all the cards are grouped into catagories, each category has a kanji chapter in my mnemosyne deck. So I active all categories from 1 up to 23, cause thats how far I am. But if I export all chapters to 50, Anki wont get that all those categories dont belong together. They also dont get a "tag", its just a big cluster of cards... Is it understandable now=? I dont get Anki....

email me your mnemosyne deck and I'll take a look.
