Where can Fabrice go on holiday? - phauna - 2009-01-14

Fabrice if you ever want some free accommodation in Sydney, Australia, I would be happy to put you up for as long as you like. I'm about ten minutes from the beach.

Any ideas where else Fabrice could go on vacation?

Good idea. Unfortunately right now I wouldn't be able to accommodate a guest at my house, but I'll gladly inform you when I will. Smile
In any case I can give you an 案内 around Rome whenever you want, ファブリス.

Fabrice would be more than welcome to come to British Columbia, Canada for a Ski/Snowboard holiday. I have lots of room at my house and some great gear he could use.
I live minutes away from...

You guys have great karma with those nice homes! I rent a small room from a Philipino woman close to work. Must have been a politician in a past life Rolleyes

I can get anyone free camping permits on one of the beach parks here in the perpetually springtime sleepy island paradise of Kauai. Mmmmm....Mango season is in one month! Smile

...nor chilly Toronto...down to -25 C tonight.

(Bhodisamaya, what are you complaining about? So your place is small---BUT YOU LIVE IN PARADISE! Mmm...mangoes.)

Fabrice, I'll take you canoeing in the summer in Algonquin Park.

You could just be a bum. If I was going to be a bum I'd want to do it in Hawaii. I've heard stories of people who would just walk the islands just living off of fruit and plants and such.

I second that. Wisconsin is not a fun place either. It's funny, because there are times we actually consider 20-ish F to be quite warm. Lol, I think Fabrice would have better luck with Bodhisamaya in Hawaii...

You can live off of cheese curds in Wisconsin though lol Wink

Actually many of my friends do exactly that. Completely off the money grid. Coconuts, bananas, avacados and every kind of tropical fruit grows wild. We have some of the cleanest drinking water anywhere. The parks all have public showers (if waterfalls are too cold for you) and bathrooms. It never gets too hot or cold at night so you can sleep naked on the beach. Hitch-hiking is safe for getting anywhere you want to go.

Oahu is a different story. Homeless people there really do suffer. They have almost a million people in Honolulu and homeless are at risk to all the same problems as the mainland except climate issues.

Lol, you may find this ironic, but...I must confess to you guys. I was born and raised in Wisconsin all my life, and I HATE cheese. Like, we're talking dai-flipping-kirai here. So I guess I'm just stuck out in the cold all by myself Sad...(maybe I can import some natto or something...)

You hate cheese (pizza!) and love natto? Have you entered therapy?

what are those logs in that picture? are they making canoes or something? >_<

I should take a picture of my local brothas out here standing out in the middle of the road in groups of 20 and blasting their stereos all day long...

Okay, the cheese thing is complicated. I do like normal pepperoni and/or sausage pizza, as long as it doesn't have too much cheese. As for plain cheese pizza, though, I'd rather eat a bowl of cardboard. However, I did surprise myself with the natto. My host family was just waiting for me to be at typical amerikajin (or person in general, even some Japanese hate the stuff) and nearly barf the moment it touched my mouth. But...I loved it. It's a bit sticky. But...it's a tasty sticky. Tasty, that is.

That picture is taken in Orange Beach/Perdido Pass (pretty much the same thing as Gulf Shores) so yeah I know it well. The spot in my picture is a few miles away from the main public beaches and you have to trek a few hundreds yards to get to it so most people don't bother. From the standpoint of that pic there is probably another 100 yards of beach/dunes behind me that is just as white. If you notice the little specs in the distance that is actually dune grass growing because it's just that uncrowded all the time.

It's kind of funny how most people are unaware that Alabama has some of the best beaches in the country.

Where can Fabrice go on holiday? - Hashiriya - 2009-01-15

yeh I loved living in Gulf Shores... I remember they used to have this souvenir shop there called Souvenir City... The entire store was in the form of a shark with it's mouth opening around the front doors, it was awesome!!... They tore it down though... such a pity :'( i lived in a beach house right beside the beach back then...
