Oahu is a different story. Homeless people there really do suffer. They have almost a million people in Honolulu and homeless are at risk to all the same problems as the mainland except climate issues.

The spot in my picture is a few miles away from the main public beaches and you have to trek a few hundreds yards to get to it so most people don't bother. From the standpoint of that pic there is probably another 100 yards of beach/dunes behind me that is just as white. If you notice the little specs in the distance that is actually dune grass growing because it's just that uncrowded all the time.
It's kind of funny how most people are unaware that Alabama has some of the best beaches in the country.

yeh I loved living in Gulf Shores... I remember they used to have this souvenir shop there called Souvenir City... The entire store was in the form of a shark with it's mouth opening around the front doors, it was awesome!!... They tore it down though... such a pity :'( i lived in a beach house right beside the beach back then...
