i know that there are lots of free audio books online, but none of them really interest me. where can i purchase audio books in japan? and what's the japanese word for "audio book."
i would prefer to purchase them at a store, but if anyone knows where i can find them online, that would be a great help.
on a completely unrelated note, has anyone else fallen in love with タコセン yet? it's a sandwich they make at たこ焼き places with せんべい, cheese and green onions. it costs around 200 yen... brilliant. if you skip the cheese it's only 150 (which is almost the same price as a shitty tuna おにぎり!!).

You could just try ripping the audio from a movie, but choose an appropriate one which is dialogue driven. Not only is the language you hear more useful because it's conversational, but you can also go and watch it later to clarify what you think is happening.

オーディオブック seems to be pretty common, and the word for narrator is 朗読. Try googling that and you should find some stuff.

Haven't used it myself so I can't vouch for it. You can also buy audiobooks on ITunes Japan (which I have done), but the selection isn't all that big yet. You can get a few of the classics though.
