I just got to Lesson 27 today (mid 900's) and I have found much good use out of the Mr. T. primitive for person. I was just curious, who came up with the Mr. T. idea? And thanks!

Considering the round about way Shrek came to be used for the finger primitive, I'm guessing it's a bit collaborative. Anyone willing to lay claim to using Mr. T first (despite the painful and gruesome death that will ensue)?

Maybe it's because the 'person' radical is sorta T-shaped.
I use Arnold Schwarzenegger myself, 'cause before I started using this site, that's what another site with RTK stories used, and he was a brilliant choice. Arnold could be anything: an action hero, a politician, a bodybuilder, a doofus who doesn't know what he's talking about... and yet it's still specific and vivid enough that I virtually never forget the radical or put it where it doesn't belong.

I really liked the Mr. T primitive, it was easy to use for pretty much any kanji with the person primitive in it. I didn't know much about Mr. T either, but the image of an angry and often violent black man who pities the fool was very useful to me.

I used the Dalai Lama because I wanted something positive to think about creating stories. In most of my shared stories I used the generic "person" thinking most other users would not be able to relate to him.
I thought it might be good to use someone who's name started with the letter "I" though since it looks like a katakana イ
