FACEBOOK - nwatkins - 2008-12-02 igordesu i for one like your idea. i like facebook. but...we are still a small community
FACEBOOK - ファブリス - 2008-12-02 Well that might be an interesting idea if you could make subgroups, by location, to organize meetups and such. FACEBOOK - alantin - 2008-12-02 @Raichu You honestly don't know? Don't worry! Remember, You are getting one so it will clear out! ![]() http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facebook @uberstuber I never thought about the reason.. Must be the ads. Thanks! =| FACEBOOK - PrettyKitty - 2008-12-02 Isn't facebook for people with .edu email addresses only? @Raichu: Something that people pester you to sign up for so they can add you to their gallery of friends and appear to be more popular. Then everyday, rather than just saying whatever it was they wanted to say to you in person, they say, "Hey! Did you check your facebook? I left you a message!" It's also a good place for middle-aged men to pick up under-aged girlfriends. Like myspace. Or just any site on the internet. FACEBOOK - atylmo - 2008-12-02 PrettyKitty Wrote:Isn't facebook for people with .edu email addresses only? No, they opened it up to anyone (not just students) a while ago. I'm not sure when though. I never liked Facebook nor signed up for it; as odd as it sounds I always found MySpace to be more useful and appealing. Although I'd totally join the RTK group
FACEBOOK - potempkin - 2008-12-02 What the hell is facebook? I'm totally serious. Edit: @alantin...oh...ok...wtf...people actually use that? FACEBOOK - alantin - 2008-12-02 potempkin Wrote:Edit: @alantin...oh...ok...wtf...people actually use that?LoL! PrettyKitty summed up how it usually goes pretty well. ![]() The whole idea is that it drains away all your time! ![]() But. Anyway. It is actually pretty good way to get in touch with friends that live far away and who you haven't seen for a long while.. FACEBOOK - Raichu - 2008-12-02 While I'm sure many people would find facebook useful to them, I don't think I would personally benefit from a social networking site. I don't need to socialize any more than I already do either on the internet or in real life. In fact I have enough on my plate right now, and the hour or so a day I can spend on Japanese consumes most of my spare time. I have hardly even spent time on my fan fiction interests. FACEBOOK - bodhisamaya - 2008-12-02 I don't think the guy is asking for anyone to walk down the aisle and take vows. He just seems to want to create a Facebook page. There are only a trillion of them. Not a big deal. FACEBOOK - bodhisamaya - 2008-12-02 PrettyKitty Wrote:It's also a good place for middle-aged men to pick up under-aged girlfriends. Like myspace. FACEBOOK - igordesu - 2008-12-02 ファブリス Wrote:Well that might be an interesting idea if you could make subgroups, by location, to organize meetups and such.Actually, that's kind of what I was thinking. Maybe not like *right* away or anything, but it'd be cool sometime in the future. Those things are easier to organize over facebook. FACEBOOK - alantin - 2008-12-02 Drop me a link here to the page where you can join and you'll have a third! FACEBOOK - askayscha - 2008-12-02 I'll make a separate one if thats alright. FACEBOOK - igordesu - 2008-12-02 http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=37781673262 I hope that link works. Otherwise, the group is called "Reviewing the Kanji." FACEBOOK - bodhisamaya - 2008-12-05 Eight out of ten are from the U.S.. Need some world representation! Actually not sure what can be done over there. Facebook is kind of boring compared to Myspace. For Someone with computer knowledge, a Myspace profile could be fun and introduce RTK to a younger generation. I have two Myspace profiles. One for my own stuff (hardly ever gets used). Another I created as a companion to the local Tibetan Center's website. The Myspace profile now gets ten times the traffic the original website got and the attendance by those under 30 for the Dharma Center classes went way up . I only wish I knew more about web design to make it nicer. FACEBOOK - Dustin_Calgary - 2008-12-05 Well I am from Canada. I am newer to this site so nobody knows who I am. Dustin Quigley in Canada, that's me

I stopped using myspace because of the giant eyesore it was. Flashing gaudy colors everywhere with tons of huge pics and autoplaying music. :O== Plus people just try to collect as many "friends" as they can in some sort of epenis contest. The sites really have different purposes. Facebook is for people you know, myspace is to meet new people (so you can cyber with them). FACEBOOK - playadom - 2008-12-05 Jarvik7 Wrote:Exactly! Have you been to Tokyo? What do you do with those people you know? I think it would be nice to expose the RTK system to new younger "friends" and save them the heart-ache of trying to learn kanji the traditional way. You have the choice to add only those that match your interests. I decline more requests for friends than I accept on the Myspace profile I watch for the Tibetan Center (granted most of those are with requests like, "view my webcam"). If I didn't feel I was one of the least computer savy users on this site I would create it myself. FACEBOOK - bodhisamaya - 2008-12-06 Dustin_Calgary Wrote:Well I am from Canada.
