How can I convert other audio files to podcast? - TerryS - 2008-11-23 [EDITED: Nevermind the first question...it turns out podcasts are just RSS feeds with MP3 inside! (I didn't know this.) I already have a regular audio converter.] I have some Japanese audio lessons I would like to put on my iPod, but they are in another format and need to be converted. How do I do this? Also, I am looking at the "Anki" software everyone is using. Is it possible to extract audio from a card/stack which includes audio and save the audio as a seperate file (like if you downloaded a stack someone else shared, you don't already have the seperate audio)? Thank you! I might be able to be of further assistance should that detail be provided. As for Anki, I can't say anything about that as I have no experience in using audio with the program. If you're using other operating systems, maybe it's easier to use an online converter. Just google 'online audio convert'. As I find more lessons, I suppose I will have need to convert wma. I have no clue what type of audio you use with Anki, or if it even matters. I haven't downloaded or used it yet, but I will as soon as I have time to start entering some sentences (from my group's practice, I guess). How can I convert other audio files to podcast? - TerryS - 2008-11-26 Hello, My first question is irrelevant (podcasts are just RSS feeds with audio/mp3)...it is only my second question which has no answer, and I don't see it on the Anki site or Wiki. Is there a way to extract audio from Anki cards one has downloaded? (I want to extract the audio and add it to my iPod.) Thanks. All Anki decks that I've used that contain things like audio and images have had a "DeckNameHere.media" folder where all the audio and other media files are stored for the deck. I think this folder is usually stored in the same place as your deck file. For example, my Heisig deck is called "Heisig.anki" and in the same place close to that file is a folder called "Heisig.media". Inside should be all the audio for all the cards in that deck. The audio isn't embedded in the deck as far as I know. TerryS Wrote:Is there a way to extract audio from Anki cards one has downloaded? (I want to extract the audio and add it to my iPod.)You should just be able to rip them from that media folder straight to your MP3 player (depending on their format). Each card will probably be a separate audio file, though. I hope I understood you right. I apologize in advance if this isn't the help you needed. How can I convert other audio files to podcast? - nac_est - 2008-11-27 Getting the audio from anki is very easy: it's all stored in a directory with the same name and the same location of the deck. For example, if you have a "Japanese.anki" deck, the directory will be "Japanese.media". Inside are all the media files contained in the deck. The only problem is that they are automatically renamed with something like this: "u2h3u12498hh129oiej1029ue12.mp3", so it might be a little difficult to find exactly what you want.
