Do you sometimes hold your level and not learning new cards? - TerryS - 2008-11-21 Yes, though I hate it when I don't learn new cards. However, it's not all about (personal) priorities...at least not in terms of "sitting in front of the T.V." I have school, work, and run a Japanese group. Having 4 hours to devote exclusively to kanji practice wouldn't happen in my wildest dreams. 4 hours every day? How do you have that if you are a working person? That said, the last 2 weeks I haven't done squat, because I have had to get caught up on a lot of stuff that has built up during the last semester. I did review, though, and I didn't do terribly, mostly minor mistakes, which I'm sure will be fine when I review again tomorrow. Then, next week will be extremely busy at work because it's a holiday, so I have to work extra hours. If I am able work on new kanji one day this weekend and one day next week, I'll be ecstatic! After that, I'll need to do some extra for a while (15-20 per day) to get back on track. Then I can go back to my planned 10 per day and 25 once a week. I don't think it's neccessarily bad when this happens, especially if you are learning vocabulary and grammar when you are not learning kanji. It's just painful. Do you sometimes hold your level and not learning new cards? - askayscha - 2008-11-25 Yeah, it often happens. My excuse is that I should learn all my cards PROPERLY before adding any more. Do you sometimes hold your level and not learning new cards? - QuackingShoe - 2008-11-25 Sadly, 'tis only an excuse, as the brain does not require one to learn something properly before it can move on to other things as well. I do it too though :o |
