Searching for kanji compounds - Lozza - 2008-10-22
Hi,
Does anyone know of a resource that allows you to search for kanji characters in compounds, and even gives you results where the character you are looking for is not the first character in the compound?
I'm sorry, it's hard to explain!
For example, if I want to search my dictionary for kanji compounds containing the character "行", I'll only see the likes of "行使" and "行路", but I won't see "旅行" because the kanji character I'm searching for is not the first in the compound.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I like http://www.jisho.org for the kind of search you describe. You can get compounds "beginning with", "ending with", "containing" your desired kanji. Sample sentences too, which is nice.

Exactly, Jisho.org is perfect for this.
If you want compounds with 足, you can write this in the word section:
*足 - get compound which end in 足.
足* - get compounds which start with 足.
*足* - get compounds which contain 足 anywhere.

Just be careful with Jisho.org sentences. It uses tanaka corpus.
