Place to get Japanese subtitles? - Tobberoth - 2008-10-05 It would be great to watch japanese stuff with subtitles since it's hard to mine stuff unless you have kanji etc right there. The only resource I know is D-addicts, unfortunately their supply of japanese subtitles is weak at best, I especially would like japanese subtitles for My Boss My Hero. EDIT: Scripts would work great as well since I could look up sentences to be sure I heard them right. Place to get Japanese subtitles? - chamcham - 2008-10-05 for drama scripts, http://www.jdrama.cc Would be awesome if there was a group that timed jdrama.cc scripts. Place to get Japanese subtitles? - alyks - 2008-10-05 I second that. I want My Boss My Hero JP subs. It would make me happy. Place to get Japanese subtitles? - shakkun - 2008-10-05 See this post. Especially the fourth link. But no My Boss, My Hero. If someone in Japan rented the DVD set though, they could rip the idx/sub files with VobSub and upload it for us. Most of the subs linked from that post are DVD rips so it's obviously possible. Personally I would PAY for 池袋ウエストゲートパーク (just not the ¥17,955 + shipping price for the dvds. Seriously, Japan?) Edit: Dramanote has マイ☆ボス マイ☆ヒーロー. Place to get Japanese subtitles? - Tobberoth - 2008-10-05 shakkun Wrote:See this post. Especially the fourth link. But no My Boss, My Hero.1. I ****ing love you for that dramanote link. My Boss My Hero script ftw. Unfortunately, I can't find them on that site. The page is huge and filled with japanese, and a search for "マイ" didn't turn up anything. Some guidance would be appriciated. 2. I wonder how hard it is to rip subs... I have some friends in Japan, not just Japanese people, who could probably do it if they knew how (and they didn't have to pay, obviously )EDIT: Seems the page was just loading amazingly slow. I think I'm starting to find the information on My Boss My Hero now. EDIT: My god what slow loading, but yes I see everything now Thanks for the link!
Place to get Japanese subtitles? - alyks - 2008-10-05 YES YES! I can finally mass mine it! I'm happy. Place to get Japanese subtitles? - shakkun - 2008-10-05 Tobberoth Wrote:2. I might try it with one of my movie DVDs and see. I would seriously die happy if I could mine from IWGP. Place to get Japanese subtitles? - alyks - 2008-10-05 http://www.weethet.nl/english/video_ripsubtitles.php That's a good guide, I think. I'm pretty sure it's ok to post here, since it deals with using something you already own. Place to get Japanese subtitles? - albion - 2008-10-05 http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/subtitles.php#Japanese They're not all complete, though. Some series are missing a couple of episodes. Place to get Japanese subtitles? - Virtua_Leaf - 2008-10-06 For anyone who cares I found this yesterday on Veoh: http://www.veoh.com/videos/v5874874mxecQHQQ It's called "Kinpachi Sensei 3 Nen B Gumi Season 7 SP", seems to be some sort of TV series spin-off, 2 hours long and completely subbed in Japanese. Watching it made me realise how much more I have to improve (one of my first times watching a raw(ish) Japanese show/film). But what I realised even more is slapstick comedy + overly sentimental high school drama = revolting. Place to get Japanese subtitles? - mystes - 2008-10-06 alyks Wrote:http://www.weethet.nl/english/video_ripsubtitles.phpIt would probably be better to use the method described at http://www.weethet.nl/english/video_ripsubtitles_vobsub.php to just produce vobsub files rather than trying to OCR the subtitles. With subrip you have to enter every character the first time it appears and that would be a lot harder for Japanese than for English. Place to get Japanese subtitles? - suffah - 2008-10-07 Hmm, hopefully someone can help me. I'm trying to play a Japanese srt subtitle file like I normally do with VLC, but the text comes up as garbled boxes. Is it an encoding issue? The sub file is unicode, I tried ANSI but of course that didn't work. Tried both mac and pc. Any ideas? Place to get Japanese subtitles? - albion - 2008-10-07 The box thing happened to me when I tried to play a video on my laptop (with VLC and Windows Media Player). Either program would display them, and changing the encoding dind't help. But I found that on my PC, with Direct VobSub installed and using WMP, they worked. Place to get Japanese subtitles? - Jarvik7 - 2008-10-07 suffah Wrote:Hmm, hopefully someone can help me.Manually set the sub encoding type in VLC to match the encoding type of the subfile. Make sure the font you have set supports Japanese. Place to get Japanese subtitles? - suffah - 2008-10-07 Thanks albion, I was about to try your advice but Jarvik's solution worked perfectly. I just changed the font to MS Mincho and voila. Whatever default font VLC uses doesn't seem to support Japanese characters. Place to get Japanese subtitles? - arrowisland - 2008-11-27 I've been looking around, but does anyone know where I could find transcripts (in Japanese of course) for Dragonball Z episodes? Thanks! Place to get Japanese subtitles? - Schokomilch - 2010-12-17 Does anyone know if there are japanese subs for Trick (トリック) available somewhere? I had no luck finding any so far... Any help or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! Place to get Japanese subtitles? - bizarrojosh - 2011-03-08 I just read about this on lifehacker. I checked a few titles out and it seems to mainly give english subtitles to movies. But it may come in handy. It's basically google but for subtitles. http://tinysubs.com/ Some tips that got different results for me. 1. Try the English title first (if there is one) (e.g., My neighbor Totoro) 2. Try the Japanese title written in romaji (e.g., tonari no totoro) 3. Try the Japanese title in Japanese (e.g., となりのトトロ) It's not going to get all your subs, but it may help you find some that you couldn't have found as quick and easy as before! Happy sub hunting! Place to get Japanese subtitles? - Cranks - 2011-03-08 I'm sorta lucky in that I live here and have cable, so DVD recorder FTW. Nevertheless, I gotta type it all in if I want to do something with it. I'm getting pretty good though. I only need to pause for a small amount of time per sub. Then again, Naruto and Bleach have a ridiculousness amount of dialogue! I'll probably start working from some of what you pasted later on, though. As speed more than understanding will be important. P.s., Finished learning my first song in Japanese today, "Bump of Chicken: Karma." Yeah, for picking seriously hard songs to subs2srs. And it looks like it just categorizes language by audio. |
