Please tell me your RTK errors - smujohnson - 2008-08-19 Hi, I am in contact with someone at the University of Hawaii Press with the power to make changes to future printings of the RTK series. To start things off, in RTK2, someone mentioned something about an error having to do with the number 1636. Can someone please give me a detailed report as to what the error is, what this number refers to, also on what page(s) it falls on? Any more? I appreciate it! Please tell me your RTK errors - woelpad - 2008-08-19 That's great. I'm keeping track of the errors in RTK3, 2nd ed. here. I informed Dr. Heisig on a few occasions, so these corrections may or may not already have reached Hawaii. Doesn't hurt to inform your contact as well. Please tell me your RTK errors - rich_f - 2008-08-19 The error is in the back of the book. In the table listing RTK2 frames by RTK1 frame number, RTK1 #1636 is inaccurately associated with RTK2 frame 983. It's actually RTK1 #1632 that's associated with that. RTK1 #1636 is instead associated with RTK2 frame #1432. One major annoyance with RTK2 is that the table in the back listing RTK1 frames only corresponds to the FIRST frame the kanji appears in RTK2. In reality, a LOT of the kanji show up in multiple frames, but to get it all straight, you have to go the actual page of the frame in RTK2 and look it up from there. It's wasted time/effort. There were other errors in there, but I can't remember them now. It's been so long since I set up my spreadsheet, I can't remember. (And I keep pushing back working on RTK2 because of other more immediate Japanese language needs.) Please tell me your RTK errors - alyks - 2008-08-19 I've only seen the first edition, but the onyomi index is a total mess. Please tell me your RTK errors - Shirow66 - 2008-08-20 What I find a bit disturbing is all the errors still in the books even though they were first published over 20 years ago iirc. |
